That reminds me of a band I used to love called The Queers, and if you like pop-punk you'd like them, they're very high school, but when youre in high school they probably sang about the shit you thought about.

Other bands I like alot are:
Geggy Tah,
Wax,
John Builder,
Bratmobile (had a few really good ones),
Face to Face (of course),
Looper / Belle&Sebastian,
Saul Williams

and millions of other punk bands that are just great

Impotent Sea Snakes.

Saw them in New Orleans last year. Actually a great show if not a little wild for my tastes. They had this naked dude who walked around breathing fire and then they had "hells chearleaders" who wore metal bras and were suspended upside down by their feet while other band members used auto body repair tools on their bras...sparks were everyhwere. Truely bizarre. Music wasnt that bad tho.

Another, Reverend Horton Heat. Good stuff.

I don't know how big they are down in the States so here goes:

The Tragically Hip - huge Canadian rock band
The Doves - intelligent brit-pop (think Radiohead)

Saves the Day is alright, disappointed by the new cd, their older stuff is alot better, most vagrant and drive-thru bands are pretty good. Further Seems Forever-pretty good emo band, but changed singers when (Chris Carrabba-lead singer of dashboard confessional) left to do his own thing. Glassjaw-nu-metal kind of band who I loved for a few years now, but who is finally gaining recognition with worship and tribute. ..and you will know us by the trail of dead- good band that is finally gaining recognition as well. Sparta-love this band after seeing them tour with midtown.

I love the Traveling Wilburys! I swear I would listen to Tom Petty sing "Old MacDonald Had a Farm."

Magnetic Fields is a cool band I haven't listened to in much too long. They were the favorite band of a friend of mine in grad school, and I love their "Count Olaf" song, it's hysterical. You can listen to it on Lemony Snicket's website. The lead singer of Magnetic Fields is a friend of Daniel Handler/Lemony Snicket.

Wait - Sparta is the guys left over from At the Drive-In, right?

I'll add the second to the list, then, and also Kara's Flowers (now reincarnated as Maroon5, that's what made me think of them).

one more I forgot...

Little Blue Crunchy Things is from southern Wisconsin. They are good . I haven't heard anything by them in a while, but I went to college with their former percussionist (an absolutely amazing musician), and they came to play occasionally at Lawrence. They did a lot of Latin-flavored stuff.

Yeah, Sparta is the drummer, bassist and one guitarist from ATDI,
The singer and other guitar player are in a band called the Mars Volta who supposed to be pretty awesome too. Maroon5 is my roommate from last years favorite band, theyre pretty good but all their songs sound like makeout music.

Me First and the Gimme Gimmes
Punk supergroup composed of members from NOFX, Lagwagon, and No use for a Name.
They take classic songs (Uptown Girl, Mrs. Robinson, Take on Me, My favorite things, Phantom of the Opera) and remake them as punk songs. My personal favorite is the remake of Barry Manilow's "Mandy"

Totally agree - it's a CD to hook up to, not listen to in the car.

They were much better as Kara's Flowers.

Music is my thing. I have a rock music website hwich can be found @ http://www.digital-noise.net

I'm a bit of a hard rock and metal nut, so here's my list of bands I wish would become larger or get more fans:

Brand New - They're an emo band. They're good. Find out more go to http://www.brandnewrock.com

Beloved - Hardcore band. If you like screaming bands check them out. They're on Solid State Records. Here's their website: http://www.belovedrock.com

Every Time I Die - They're not a death metal band, believe me. Don't judge the band by the name. They're a hardcore band, but they're kinda zany and manic sounding. Go here: http://www.ferretstyle.com/hotdamn/ and check out the media player if you like heavy music

Tub Ring - they will be the most weird band you'll ever hear. They blend so many styles it's not even funny. Songs are here: http://artists.mp3s.com/artists/110/tub_ring.html

Authority Zero - They're a punk/ska band from Arizona. Fun fun fun band. Check them out: http://www.authorityzero.com/

Skindred - Reggae funk metal. Think a metal band with reggae vocals. Very unique stuff. Check out their media player here: http://skindred.reddplayer.com/module/player/player.htm

I could go on for ages. Anyways, yeah, plugging my website: http://www.digital-noise.net - interviews, reviews, editorials, videos, news, all on rock music. fun times.

Blue Rodeo

Rolling Stone says that America's best new band may be from Canada. Great country music. Try "Alone." My favorite new country band.

Dimmu Borgir

European Metal. This band rocks.

Jag Panzar

More European Metal

Dream Evil

If you want to rock, try this one.

Beautiful Creatures

Try the song, "Kick Out."
