I am going to say the same thing to you I said to my daughter...
"You can't honestly tell me that on a campus THAT size, there are no eligible, decent guys who would be flattered if you asked them to your formal." At least you TRIED. She hasn't even done THAT!
(she's now considering some people OUTSIDE GREEKDOM! OMG! Is that possible? Would a GDI from the SOUTH exist that wouldn't mind renting a tux?) Sometimes I think the sexes paint themselves into a corner by limiting their thinking. I know the arguments against asking a GDI, but SURELY there are some cuties outside Sorority Row! Unless it's like THIS WEEKEND (in which case you waited too long to ask and most girls would think they were NOT on the A list and of course they would say NO)...
THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX! I would think some if not most girls went to colege with a formal-or access to one- hoping they would have an opportunity to actually USE it.
The Cotillion rule of thumb is ask a girl ONE MONTH before a formal affair. That's the end of my "Mom nag"!
Now, unless you are set on seeing your buddies-work through your friends, take a date and have a blast! The perfect fit could be right around the corner, but you just can't see her because she isn't a part of your regular scenery.

Girls also have this sort of problem...
So my formal is tomorrow night, and I just experienced about the worst Valentine's Day ever. I don't even want to look at my date, let alone go to formal with him and spend the night in Orlando together. So, what's a girl to do, with appx. 24 hours before the best social event of the year? I'm thinking about telling him he's peaced, but then what do I do? Ask a friend? Or just go by myself?

Absolutely! Haha. Beats my night of Old English and the Food Network. Completely joking... that would most def be depressing. Actually, this valentines will probably go down as the most memorable of my college career, even though I had no boyfriend and was DD.
Tommorow I am leaving with the morning sun to Vegas, but come Tuesday, I hope to be calling you...finally.
Love your valentine

Well whether its a friend or stag make sure you go, because 20 years from now you won't remember the bad situation all that well but you will wish you had gone.
Try to find one of those casual guys guy and just ask him, I and some of my friends would go in a moment, with a stranger, just for the new experience and a story to tell.

Hey Cory:
Sorry, I am a little late on this ...
Hope things are looking up for you. This girl must be crazy - you are an absolute sweetheart. Please remember that.
I, and I think everyone else on the planet, have experienced rejection. Its not fun. But someday the right girl will come along.
Take Care,
Rhonda

So I've been seeing that girl that I took in my former-crushes stead and now it seems that things will become of the two of us. I presume I should knock on wood for that so as not to let irony dismiss it for me, but we've been hanging out alot & now she asked me to her formal in a few weeks, so I'm pumped....life does seem to work out for the better....
