My all time favorite is Graeter's Chocolate Chocolate Chip. Say what you will, but it's heaven to me.
After that a toss up between Ben & Jerry's Americone Dream and Phish Food.

This is a chain. We had one too but it just closed last year. Their Moose Tracks was pretty good.

LOVE Moose Tracks, LOVE Strohs. There are other brands of Moose Tracks that are good, but Strohs is always the best!

My favorite is a local shop - Brusters. We had a taste test between Brusters and Godiva's Chocolate Raspberry Truffle, and Brusters won, hands down.
If I've buying some for home, it's . Supposedly, it's less fat & calories, but if I really have to have ice cream, I usually don't look at the labels! Vanilla, please, with lots of "stuff" to put on it!

My favorite Flavors vary but typically have carmel mixed in.

Mitchell's? I still have nightmares from when I used to work there!

OMG OMG OMG. That Haagen Dazs Sticky Toffee Pudding was EASILY THE BEST ICE CREAM I HAVE EVER EATEN. I was HOARDING it in my freezer for a while because I knew it was a limited time thing. Sadness.
Also, I am kinda in love with Kiwi Yogurt, lol. I had it the last 2 times I was in State College and honestly, any place with red velvet frozen yogurt is a winner in my book.

I so rarely go out for ice cream anymore - it's been years since I went to an ice cream store (parlor? that seems so formal). It took this thread for me to realize how long it's been! I'm a horrible mom, and I realize this trend must stop now.
When I used to go out for ice cream, it was always to Baskin Robbins. My choice there was either Cookies and Cream or Pistachio. While on vacation once, I went to a Ben & Jerry's and had Phish Food. Good stuff.
There's a Mexican restaurant in town that has wonderful fried ice cream. I'm sure it's completely inauthentic, but it's delicious.
I buy Blue Bell brand ice cream from the grocery store - Ultimate Neapolitan is our family's favorite. There's some in the freezer right now actually, and I think I hear it calling my name.

It used to be Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and now it's Cake Batter. Apparently, I can live without cooked things (even in ice cream).
Ben & Jerry's has the chocolate ribbon going through it but at Coldstone, I can get cake batter with yellow cake, strawberries, and sprinkles!
DangitnowI'mhungry.

So is cake batter ice cream done at other places? The first and only time I've heard of it is at Cold Stone.

Yes, it is. I think Cold Stone was the first to break it out, though.
