I just purchased the Crest Night Effects package today because I had a $5.00 off coupon and they are only 12 bucks so I thought what the heck - they arent strips, you paint on the stuff, let it set for 60 seconds then go to bed. I will keep everyone update on whether it works or not!

Question Night Effects

If anyone has used them, what did you think?

I bought them a couple of days ago and this is my 4th night and I don't think it's staying on my teeth! I hate to admit it but I feel like i'm swallowing a bunch of this gunk! I sure hope my teeth become a little lighter but I'm starting to have some doubts

I have already used up my first box of Crest Whitestrips and bought another one to use when I see that my teeth are becoming discolored again. The only thing I noticed was that my gums, which are kind of sensitive already, became slightly sensitive during one or two of the applications. But other than that, the whitestrips really worked and my teeth are noticeably better.

Before I tried them, I didn't want to get it because it was a bit costly for something that I wasn't sure was going to even work. But there's coupons out there for the whitestrips. I only spent $18 on my second box because I found a coupon and they were already on sale.

I have not used the CNE ones - I haven't even seen them on the shelves - but when I used the original Whitestrips I saw results after about 8 or 9 days.

Ok, I forgot to report on the Night Effects. I hated that stuff!!!! Do not even think about using this stuff if you sleep in the same bed with someone. I came out of the bathroom after applying that junk and it looked like I had just eaten corn on the cob with reckless abandon! It was all gunked up in my teeth, and it was hard to "dry" your teeth off so I also felt like I ended up eating half of it or only coating half of the tooth. After two nights I threw it away.

Tonight is my first night of trying the White Strips - they were $21.99 at the store and I found a $7 off coupon in the sunday paper. I am excited about the results because it sounds like they really work!

Ditto to that! I quit using after a week. I was getting a little sick of swallowing the stuff all night

It is absolutely disgusting...but i've stuck it out and my teeth are whiter than when i used to the white strips a few months ago, and I'm just beginning my second week on them. The white strips made my teeth/gums entirely too sensitive, but the night effects have hardly made them sensitive in comparison...so i give the night effects a thumbs up if you're willing to deal with how disgusting it looks and feels...and getting the goo all over your mouth!

Well, I am currently using the Crest White Strips during the day and the Colgate Simply White Nights at night. This is just my second day, but I see a difference already. Of course, I also use Rembrandt Superior Whitening Toothpaste as well. I brush, then rinse with Rembrandt Whitening mouthwash. I follow up with the white strips. At night, I use the same routine, except instead of the strips, I "paint" on the Simply White. It is not gunky. I don't taste it or anything. I let it dry on, then I'm cool. I didn't like the way the Crest Night Effects looked, so I went with the Simply White.

My teeth had stains that I am pretty sure I was born with. Not horrible or overly noticable, but I see ALL of my flaws and I have to take care of my teeth. I didn't want to pay $400 to my dentist (unless my process doesn't work), so I am trying this. I'll keep you all posted....

I've tried both the Crest Whitestrips and... I forget what the other stuff was, but it was that paint on stuff. Besides doing absolutely nothing in the whitening department, they made my teeth so unbelievably sensitive that I could only eat or drink things that were at room temperature, even for about a week after I stopped using each of them (didn't do them at the same time...). My teeth were slightly sensitive when I was little, but they haven't been in years until this.

I just started using the whitestrips a couple days ago...
I think i'm already noticing a difference on my one badly stained tooth...the others look the same.

I'm glad that appears to be working, unfortunately I have a grey tooth and don't have the $$ to get a cap or crown, so I'll still hate my smile. (stupid bike accident!)

In a few days I'll be done with my first box of Crest Strips, but I had started using them last month, then stopped and resumed again a few days ago. I've seen a difference on my top teeth... the bottom strip doesn't seem to stay on my teeth as well. I've been thinking about trying Crest Night Effects (the paint at night) just because they're on sale now. But I'm afraid that since I'd be painting it on myself that my teeth could come out different shades if not applied evenly.

There's an article in June's Consumers Digest about whitening products. It favored dentist-dispensed take-home bleaching trays or one-hour in-office bleaching-- it said those are "the only procedures that get into the dentin and bleach the teeth." It said that "while over the counter products may remove surface stains and temporarily whiten teeth, 'they never bleach or change the color of teeth, because they never reach the dentin,'" according to a a dentist and consumer advisor for the American Dental Association. Dentin's the layer of the tooth under the enamel that has the most color, according to the article.

I think I'll give my teeth a rest for a while after I finish the box... my parents keep saying my teeth are fine but I want my teeth to be as white as Jessica Simpson's-- have you seen them, they're so white!
