I think anyone who wants to drop in less time it takes to rotate once around the sun should just do it immediately. Open up that spot for someone who wants to be there, and if you have an unsuccessful rush next year take a cue from Cher and don't come crying to GC. Seriously, I want to make a flow chart.

You mean... for the earth to rotate (on its axis) once?
We know the point you were trying to get across, though

So I've been reading on here that we can't re-rush for a full year bc of NPC. But if we want to re-rush in the Spring of 2011, will we be at a disadvantage? We are both currently IN chapters (because we signed pref cards) but have only been for a short time. We're not initiated or anything, just VERY new members.
I guess I'm looking for a school specific answer? If that is at ALL possible. I feel like I will have it worse off at UVA to re-rush, but will it be hard for my Tech friend also? Will our sororities tell other sororities not to let us in? (Even though if I drop out for personal reasons, not me being like "well I hate XYZ." And likewise for my friend...)
Trust me I am giving this a try but I don't think it's fair to "XYZ" to stay in it for 4 years when I know I can't put my whole heart into it.
PLEASE if anyone knows about UVA/ Va-Tech re-rushing......PLEASE.

Dear Abby Road,
How DARE you? How DARE you even think for one moment a sisterhood that welcomed you is "less than you". You egocentric whiny little brat. I know LEGACIES who didn't get into their first choice. LEGACIES What makes you so special that you are better than any sisterhood who offered you friendship, and a family?
You want to ditch them for something better? Something that would make you more popular?
You should be ashamed of yourself.

Yeah, it has been one of those days. I was denied coffee this afternoon
The turning point was when I burst into church giggles in class because my professor was referring to "degenerate cases" and I was thinking of the other kind of degenerate. Then there were some trapezoids that were looking kind of MC Escher to me because of the points used to compute area and distance on a Cartesian system. Another gem "polygons require closure" and I just imagined a hexagon sitting on the couch eating a pint of ice cream and watching Lifetime Movie Network while fighting the urge to call up the triangle who broke her heart.

Well it sounds like the both of us don't have a chance in hell of getting what we want at all, so we're sticking it out for a month or so.
Well actually my Va-Tech friend has decided to stay, but as long as I drop out before initiation I'm OK, right? To maybe rush again....But I'm still deciding!

If you didn't want the sorority that wanted you, why did you put them down on your pref card?
The sororities you ranked higher didn't rank you higher, if they put your name down at all. If you quit now, no you probably won't get what you want and you may very well be done with Greek life. Worse things have happened.
But if you actually give it a chance -- which means a lot more than just "sticking it out" -- you just might discover that what you got is a whole lot better than what you thought you wanted.
