Have any of you GCers purchased customized Greek clothing from ebay users trotter06 or zeroopoint?
They are fairly priced and their ratings are good (btw, I think it's the same person with 2 accts, not positive though) but I'm always so hesitant to order anything without seeing it, trying it on, and inspecting the quality first.
If you've ordered from them, how was your transaction with them and how well-made was the item?
Thanks, in advance

"Trotter06" mentioned in my previous post is having a 21% off sale on a lot of the merchandise listed so I'm almost positive I'm buying a few things...
Wanted to bump first to see if anyone had any reviews/experiences before I make the purchase!

I've purchased stuff with collegiategreek.com and somethinggreek.com and am very satisfied with them. I'd love to order something from greeknation.com sometime.
I like that Something Greek makes sweatpants with stitched letters on them. I had been searching high and low for that!

Greekave.com is the worst. DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. I REPEAT, DO NOT ORDER FROM THEM. I ordered a shirt and a bag from them a while ago, and it took forever then when it finally came, the bag had Kappa Alpha Theta and not Kappa Alpha Psi. They do not answer emails at all. Your best bet is finding a store locally that does greek letter embroidery, this way you can physically go there and pick up your merchandise.
I've heard good things about www.stuff4greeks.com.

what have people experiences been with joetoga.com?
They have some ridiculously low prices on discontinued items & I thought they might be good for holiday gifts.
Any thoughts?

Joe Toga
I often go to the brick-and-mortar store - the owner is very active in Ft. Bend Alumnae Panhellenic and they support the Greater Katy Alumnae Panhellenic. Good folks - I can't speak to on-line ordering, but can vouch for them overall.

Beware of Greekgear.com and their horrible business practices
A week or so ago, I ordered a square mousepad that looked like this, which cost (before shipping) $12.95:
http://www.mcssl.com/store/checkitou...48c5f5e68b839e
After charging me almost $19, Greekgear sent me a circular mousepad that looked like this, which cost (before shipping) $9.75:
http://www.greekgear.com/2008pm.html
When I emailed "Betty" in Customer Service to complain, I was told that they had run out of the (more expensive) square mousepads so, they had sent me the (less expensive) round mousepad-even though they still charged me for the more expensive one...without contacting me beforehand to see if this was acceptable. She then proceeded to tell me that I could be charged only "half-price" if I chose to keep the round one...AFTER I had sent her the email stating I was unhappy with my purchase.
This is the message I received after telling her I was unhappy with them sending me the wrong mousepad, for which I was charged more money:
"I am sorry that you did not receive what you ordered, the mouse pad ordered
is actually out of stock and has been discontinued by our supplier. That is
why we sent the round mouse pad. I understand that you are not happy with
the one that was sent, would you like to keep this one for half price?"
I told her I wanted a full refund. She told me I could get one. When I called to ask her if they would be refunding me EVERYTHING to include the shipping charges, she rudely stated, "That's part of the entire cost." She acted as if I was inconveniencing her, even though they charged me EXTRA for an item I didn't want. They have horrible customer service and this is not the first time I have dealt with them messing up orders. I figured I would let it go and continue to use them-in hopes they woulnd't always screw things up. Be careful what you buy with them. I ended up finding the proper mousepad, elsewhere and ordered it.
Greekgear.com will no longer be getting my business.

I used Joe Toga once and I really liked them. I haven't used them recently though, but I've been looking into it. The layout of their website doesn't make it easy to support them though.

^^^ That the owner is an active Greek makes me even more likely to support them.

I really wanted to order but it ended up being ridiculous.
The shipping for my items was almost as much as my total order (with standard shipping) and at that point, I'd rather just pay the extra cost on the items on another site with cheaper shipping or just get them at Transfer Junction (the state college store) for the upcharged price since I'd be paying it anyways. Only downside is that there was a really nice item I wanted to order my AGD friend for Christmas, and we don't have AGD here so the store doesn't really stock anything for them. Pretty much what was leftover when it closed here (squirrel shaped paddle lol)

Has anyone used http://www.customgreekthreads.com/ ? They keep popping up in my adds on facebook. I love that it gives you a preview of what the letters will look like, but it is on the spendy side. Any reviews out there?

If you really need something from Joe Toga, I can always get it for you and ship it USPS - Priority, if you like - the flat-rate shipping ends up being pretty cheap. You would have to pay TX taxes, though.
