Yes! Back before they had the blue balls (hehe) ... They ruined the cereal by adding those.
Oh, and don’t forget 'Home Improvement'... and every girl being obsessed with JTT!

Ah, back in the day.......
I watched Thundercats, Voltron, He-Man, She-Ra, Inspector Gadget, You Can't Do That On Television, and Double Dare. I wasn't allowed to watch TV until my homework was done (and my babysitter would rat on me if I did), and there was no way I could do all my homework between 3:15 (when I got home) and 4 (when Voltron came on). So I snuck into my dad's office and watched on his old TV set, which was hooked up to the house's antenna (remember those?). After the show, I finished my homework.
There were sooo many ads for sugary cereals. I remember all the hype over the introduction of purple horseshoes in Lucky Charms. But my parents would never let me have the sugary stuff. I got cornflakes.
When I was in elementary school, break-dancing was all the rage.
My friends and I had Garbage Pail Kids cards. I think I still have some of mine somewhere. Maybe I should eBay them.
And then there were the Cabbage Patch Kids. The company that made them had a store in NYC called "Babyland on Fifth" where you could watch the dolls being "born" in a "cabbage patch".
I owned many pairs of stirrup pants, and I actually looked good in them. (Sadly, this is no longer true.)

They don't make em like they used to. I used to play with those things in my yard everyday, and they stayed out there, for like three years....I still have those rusty old things.

I was just thinking about this the other day. I'm only 24, but I remember, I dunno, I feel like my parents were not as concerned about someone kidnapping us from the yard as parents are today.
Example: I was babysitting my 5 year old god-daughter, the other day and it was surprisingly pretty nice out for this time of year (like 50ish and not snowing). She was complaining about being bored, so I suggeted, "Why don't you go ride your bike?"
She seriously looked at me as if I had suggested that she go cartwheeling down the middle of the freeway or something equally crazy and dangerous.
I remember my parents would let us walk to the store (like 3 blocks away and past a major street) at night with no problems (as long as there were like 3 of us). Weird. I guess times have changed.
