I forgot that Jason from the first Apprentice the brother in law of one of my best friends. He's a really nice, down to earth guy.
And I met Justine Simmons, wife of Rev Run, and Diggy at Newark Airport. They were in front of me in line getting a pretzel. I talked to her and she gave me a huge hug. Diggy was very very polite. They were flying to Detroit cuz Rev was doing his concert with Kid Rock (omg if it had been Kid that I ran into I would've freaked out!). They ended up sitting in the row in front of us on the plane in first class. Russy, the babysitter and the new baby were with them. I couldn't believe how well-behaved the kids were!

In the south, you call close friends of the family "Uncle" and "Aunt." My "uncle" is "Uncle Fess," Fess Parker. He played Davy Crockett on The Wonderful World of Disney way back when. He now has a winery in California.

Did you see him when he was in town for Extreme Makeover? He was so high from smoking big, fatty joints at the Deli that the staff was laughing at him. He was a complete ass to them.

I want to know if Sheetcake has had a brush with greatness. My thought is that Sheetcake IS greatness.
ETA: And for that matter, Chuck Norris too

When I was a sports journalist I interviewed a few famous athletes (most famous were probably Derek Jeter and Rob Dibble) and sports personalities (mostly from ESPN) - some were really great interviews (Chris Berman and Dan Patrick were incredibly nice, as was Rich Eisen), some were pretty rude (won't mention names).
I've also dealt with some famous people (athletes, actors/actresses and politicians) in other professional settings, but I can't give names because of confidentiality issues.
Finally, one of my high school friends (we're not in touch anymore) has been featured in a few commercials (for Axe Body Spray, and the T-Mobile commercial with Brett Favre). She's also been in a couple of movies and television shows.

Back in the 1980s, I used t babysit for some Dallas Cowboys: Tom Rafferty, Charlie Waters, Robert Newhouse and Drew Pearson. I also babysat Defensive Coordinator Ernie Stautner's grandkids.
They also bought Girl Scout cookies from me every year.

My husband was assigned to the White House in the Clinton era, so I met Bill,Al, etc many times, also Socks and Buddy (what a great dog). During that time I met Sonny Bono at Chevys at the Pentagon Center who was dead within a couple of weeks. Very gracious man, he seemed pleased that someone recognized him. I also met Jesse Jackson de planeing from Air Force One at Andrews. Also, very charming and quite good looking. I met Chuck Norris where I currently live at book signing a few years ago....so nice, soft spoken, and eager to meet and accomodate everyone who wanted to see/meet him. I ran into Naomi Judd a few months ago in a bakery here. She lives nearby. Very pretty and nice and has 2 cute dogs

The most famous person I know is famous for a trial that was in the 60s (I think). Alan Bakke v. University of California. It was about reverse discrimination.
I met James Otto at a concert.
My bf hung out with Kid Rock at a winery he used to work at.

I worked at a Footlocker store in college, and one day Vincent Furnier (aka Alice Cooper!!!!) walked in looking for golf shoes. Made my week! Also met plenty of coaches and basketball players though that job.
I've also met Carl Edwards, Mark Martin and a couple other drivers through my husband's company.

Let's see:
1. Carol Channing, 1986--when I was 6 she had the table next to us at the International Club in the Drake Hotel in Chicago. I had just seen the 4 hr. TV-miniseries version of Alice in Wonderland (she played the White Queen). I couldn't believe it was her--she was very nice to me; probably because at the time I had NO CLUE about her B'way past.
2. Vince Tobin, 1989--he and his son sat in front of my Dad and I for Game 2 of the Cubs/Padres NLCS in Chicago. He was the defensive coordinator of the Bears at the time I believe (and of course later was the head coach of the Arizona Cardinals).
3. Michael Jordan, 1994--Michael's son Jeffrey and my cousin went to preschool together and my aunt and Juanita were friends. I babysat Jeffrey once when he was over for a playdate while I was babysitting my cousins. Michael came over to pick him up. He even paid me for my time (Jeffrey was there for like, an hour!)--$25 bucks. Coolest. Babysitting experience. EVER.
4. Billy Zane, 1995--Billy was an alum of the camp I went to every summer. He came to camp to see how much things had changed since he was a camper. Seeing as the location of camp (among other things) had changed, he seemed a little weirded out to be there. This was pre-Phantom and pre-Titanic so I don't think the experience was as cool for me as it could've been. I do have a picture with him and some of my friends though.
5. Lecy Goranson, 1998--Lecy played the original Becky on Roseanne. She went to my high school and her Mom was my senior year AP English teacher. She came to our class once just to sit in. She didn't say much and tried to 'blend' in. I do have friends who sisters were friends with her when they were growing up and they all said the fame got to her head and she was a b---- when she came home.
Other:
Zach Gilford (of Friday Night Lights Fame) went to my HS (he was 2 years behind me). His Mom is still a social worker there. His older sister was a year ahead of me. Zach was a decent actor in HS, but there were definitely better ones than him.
Also went to camp one summer with Zoe Perry (Laurie Metcalf's daughter). She was fairly nice but didn't like talking about her Mom. I think Laurie shipped her off while she was filming a movie and she wasn't happy about that. Laurie didn't come pick her up at the end of the summer; I don't remember how Zoe got home (our parents picked us up at the end of camp).

I was able to go to the NATPE convention once for work in 1998. So I was able to meet a bunch of famous people. Some of them-
Martha Stewart- she was signing copies of her "good things" book. She was very nice and I still have the book
Emeril Lagossi- just as manic as he appears to be on tv
Kathie Lee Gifford- she is so skinny her waist is probably no wider than the span of my hands
Regis Philbin- when I told him I lived in Indiana, he asked if I was a Notre Dame fan. When I said yes, he got all excited
Barbara Streisand- cut right in front of me while I was waiting to meet Martha Stewart. She didn't even say excuse me-- but her assistant did
All of the original "View" women. Star Jones was not very nice. The rest were very nice-- even Debbie Matenopolis
I also saw Tonya Harding at the Cincy airport back before the Nancy Kerrigan thing. She wasn't very nice. I met Jill Trenary (another figure skater) and she was adorable and very nice.

I feel like I've met a few celebrities, but I can only think of one at the moment.
I went through colony recruitment this past fall, so the process was a little different then regular FR. We had one on one interviews with alums, members of the national board, etc. The morning after all interviews were completed we could go to the Panhellenic office to pick up our invitations for preference ceremony. The office is in the main administrative building on campus. In this building we also have about 100 hotel rooms available for visitors.
I picked up my invitation, and on my way out, I ran into Mindy Kaling (who plays Kelly Kapoor on The Office) checking into the hotel. She was here for some comedy show that weekend. I saw her while she was waiting for the elevator to her room. I was SO excited because I just love The Office, so I had to say something. I said something along the lines of, "OMG I LOVE THE OFFICE AND YOU DO SUCH A GOOD JOB, ITS SO FUNNY! Good luck at your show tonight, I wish I could make it but I can't!" (I had my preference party that night!) I basically made an ass of myself, lol. She was so friendly though, she was like "Aw thank you, you're so sweet!"
So that's my most recent brush with fame.

Speaking of Jeff Jordan, he goes to my school now, and a good friend of mine hangs out with him often. My friend is really good friends with Jeff's girlfriend. I met him once or twice, and he was really nice. I'm not sure why, but I was expecting him to be cocky, lol
I always secretly hope I'll run into Michael on Dad's weekend...

Oh...I forgot! I met Harold, the first winner of Top Chef, at his restraurant, Perilla. We had dinner there late one friday night this fall. Harold came out and sat at the bar, right next to our table. One of my friends asked if he'd take a picture with me, and he agreed. He's fairly short but as cute as he can be. His food was wonderful, too!
