i'm the opposite. when i was working i didn't have a problem with snacking. i was too busy to think about it. now that i'm home all day, i'm eating MUCH more. i'm at least getting out and taking walks so hopefully that helps compensate a bit. i'm very much ready to get back to work and keep losing weight.

ps - i put on a pair of khakis today that i haven't been able to fit into forever! yeah!!!

Hey all--
I am going to my first WW meeting this Saturday, so I am very excited! I have a question, though--do you have to continue going to the first place you weigh in at or can you go to whatever one is nearest to you whereever you are(for example, the Sat. morning one is nearest to my house but there is another one I could go to on Monday at lunchtime that is near my work if I missed my Sat. meeting).
I lost about 50 pounds 2 years ago and I have gained 15 of it back, so my goal is to lose 15 pounds(and maybe more) and continue working out. I LOVE to work out and my suggestion to people is a BODY WORKS class. Its all the weights and stretching and it really helps trim your body(ie, get rid of rolls in bad places).
I'll let you all know how it goes!

Okay, so after reading this thread all day yesterday, I decided to go to a later step class and go to weight watchers yesterday, so I am an official WW person now!
It seemed fine and I actually ended up knowing 2 or 3 people in my group. My group leader was pretty good. I don't think she is going to be as excited as my little group was about saving some flex points to be able to drink, but she still seemed good.
Random question-anyone sure how many points are in a slim fast meal replacement bar.
I am going to eat sushi tonight-Yum!

I AM ALWAYS BORED. My job is a huge factor in my weight problem. I sit all day doing the same thing for 8 hours a day. Because I am so bored I tend to snack, and what do I snack on? Crap from the veding machine. I've been good at following the point system, but I've dipped into my flex points quite a bit and I could easily use them the up before the week is done.
Now, short of quitting my job, what can I do to keep myself from snacking frequently when I am bored at work (which is constantly)?
I would suggest working out before work... I think working out in the morning makes you want to eat in a healthy manner, and when you do decide to splurge on something, you will eat less of it, b/c you do not want to lose the "just worked-out" feeling. It sounds stupid, but it is true. Also, you could walk to and from work. saves gas and money. How far?

I don't drive, so I don't have to worry about gas, but it's at least a 2 hour walk to and from work. It takes 45 minutes on public transportation to get to work.

I can't work out in the mornings because I have trouble getting up. I am not a morning person. It my complete and utter boredom in my job that makes me snack. If I was busy or had interesting work to do, I think I wouldn't snack, but as you can see I don't which is why I spend half my day on the internet.

That is great about the 3 pounds, congrats... I wasn't a morning person either, but I began making myself get up, it is really hard at first, and now I enjoy it. It is the best time to work out. You should try it.

Okay, everyone--today is my first weigh in! I am very excited and hope I lost some weight.
Does anyone else have problems reaching thier points goal everday? I am at 20 points but I work out for an hour almost every day, so I always have some bonus points, so I don't think I have had one day where I have used all my points.
How is everyone else doing?

When you work out and you get bonus points, those are like flex points. You don't have to use them!
As long as you eat your 20 points a day, then you're fine.

I never count the points that I get from exercise. Not eating those points is just a good way to loose weight faster. I also try to not eat my 35 flex points also.
