Well, I use my silver and crystal and good china pretty regularly. Love my Waterford - Lismore, of course.

And I set my dining table with my Spode Christmas Tree china after Thanksgiving and leave it up till after Christmas. Lovely decoration.

Holy Crap that 75 yard run followed by that SWEET interception my poor husband didn't think he was going to get me to go to bed afterwards I was so excited! Hotty Toddy! LOVE LOVE LOVE this discussion--- I am a Gorham Fairfax girl- but only because it was my husbands grandmothers pattern and she left ALL of her silver to him when she died.. so I have full service for 28! My mother was a Francis I girl and was a little miffed I didn't go with hers, but understood the importance of having enough full settings for everyone!

Agree with DubaiSis- USE YOUR STUFF- life's too short!!! I use my good stuff as much as I can- LOVE LOVE LOVE my waterford Ballymore crystal, I did Villeroy and Bosch as my everyday and then my mother and I got into a fight over my fine so I have one Lenox pattern (hers) and one Wedgewood that compliments it :-) and YES I do have Christmas china as well...(of course! :-) )

Sorry I am something of a place-setting 'ho (I love the stuff).... none of my "yankee" in-laws understand (and I think my SIL's thought I was being 'pretentious' with my registry)-- oh well it's a "southern thing"

I think pshsx1 is the one who rocks. Something he didn't say is when you find the GIF you want, you have to open the image in a new tab by right clicking on the image and selecting "open image in new tab." Only that will give you the correct URL.

Hotty Toddy is right!

Wallace Washington with K's on each piece...my sister has Chantilly that was my grandmother's...and my mom has Chantilly too that was her mother's....I did register for Bucccellati Empire but I ended up just sticking with the Wallace Washington since my great aunt's set is enough for 20 people! I figure I can always borrow my mom's since she lives a mile from me now. While the Wallace is a little plain for my taste I love that it has K's on them. They look very pretty with my Haviland Val De Loire china and my Waterford Clarendon. My sister's china is fabulous Mottahedeh Tobacco Leaf! My mom said she always regretted not picking out what she wanted. So I picked out exactly what I wanted with a little help from her!
ETA: I forgot I have my grandmother's Lenox Wheat pattern from the 1940s. It's a lovely pattern and of course no one else wanted it so the AOII in me had to take it! Thank goodness her service for 18 fits in my sideboard with my Haviland. My house is not big and I didn't want to see it go up in the attic.

This is the SWEETEST run I have ever seen!!! What a fabulous way to start the season

And as for china & silver... I feel like such a heathen! I have just 1 china service (Lenox Liberty) and I can't even remember the name of the silver pattern that I inherited from my grandmother. I should try to find out what it is.
