The singer announced the name of the baby's father stating he is rapper The D.O.C. The D.O.C. made his indelible mark on hip-hop in the late '80s with No One Can Do It Better, a freshman album that went platinum. Shortly after his album dropped D.O.C. fell asleep at the wheel of his car and was in a near-fatal accident. The crash permanently damaged his voice when his larynx was crushed. D.O.C. released Deuce in 2003, his third album. The Doctor served as a ghostwriter for Death Row Records in the 1990's

HE claims Brandy was his girl on the side and his main girl was/is a producer. She is currently seven months pregnant by him.

Robert said when Brandy told him she was preggo, he was SHOCKED and afterwards, him, Brandy, and her mom came up with this plan to say she was secretly married. They were the only three that knew.

He was never in love with Brandy like he loves his main boo.

Rob said if you ever payed attention to the MTV show, you would see he stayed in the background and that's b/c he didn't want his girl to see. She found out about Brandy through the media.

They have joint custody but not on the best terms right now.

He decided to go on Wendy's show b/c he's from NJ and he wanted to apologize aloud to all his friends and family.

I read in our local paper that Brandy has issued a statement that they were in fact not legally married but rather joined by a "spiritual union".

Three years after he allegedly wed Brandy in secret, the father of the R&B singer's daughter is claiming the two were never really married.

In interviews earlier this week with New York radio stations WBLS-FM and WQHT-FM, Robert Smith insisted that he and the 24-year-old Brandy, who released her fourth album, Afrodisiac, on June 29, never legally wed. Rather, the couple just portrayed the notion of nuptials to preserve Brandy's image.

Before he began his relationship with Brandy, Smith was involved with another woman, a film producer, and initially had sustained relationships with both women. When Brandy became pregnant, the decision was made to tell people they were married.

Brandy gave birth to daughter Sy'rai in June 2002, as documented in the MTV program "Diary Presents: Brandy — Special Delivery," and the couple parted ways a year later. Smith has since gotten back with the film producer, and they are expecting a child in two months.

Brandy, in a statement issued by her publicist, claimed she was "hurt and shocked" by Smith's revelations. Instead of a legally recognized marriage, she claims they had a "spiritual union and a true commitment to each other."

"We still share a common bond through our daughter, Sy'rai," the statement continued. "He is not thinking about her, me, or what we had together. He is trying to destroy my reputation while using me and our daughter to get publicity and radio airplay for his artists. I am stunned that he is being so dirty about it."

Smith, a music producer, said he appeared on the radio stations to introduce Amanda, a new artist signed to his Big Bert Entertainment imprint who is dropping the single "Please Mister" in August.

Following Brandy's statement, Smith issued one of his own. "My comments were in no way made to take away any responsibility from Sy'rai emotionally or financially," it read. "And in no way am I an irresponsible father. ... I have recently been granted joint custody of Sy'rai. When breaking off relationships it's always difficult, and I prefer not to air our dirty laundry through the media. I was just stating the truth. Brandy and I have many things to work out over a long period of time, [and] will hopefully [head] in a more positive direction."

I knew something was fishy with Brandy, the baby, and all. Little Sy'rai looks just like Robert though. Did any of you read the story in Sister to Sister? When Jamie was asking her questions about Robert and what happened and she was crying or teary because of the pain. They don't even talk right now. How did it get so ugly? They have Sy'rai to think about. I hope the work this out for Sy'rai. She is such as cutie.

Anyway, I wonder when the "truth" is going to come out about Mrs. Solange.

Unfortunately no. People did make fun of her, asked her if she was "fresh". She had come the South so it was actually her entire first name, not a first and middle.

She had good company with kids named Moonwater, Skye Blue, Joyful Noise, Harmony and Melody the twins, Rainbow Moon, Caine and Abel the twins, and other people I can't think of at the moment.

I'm from San Francisco, some people's parents never realized the 60's ended!!!

this shouldn't surprise anyone i knew somethin' wasn't right when Brandy, after going on and on about how close she and her mom were, said that she told her mom she was already married in casual conversation. that didn't even sound right her image woulda been "jacked" if she was seen as just another "baby momma".
as for little Puma, she is such the cutie at any rate, if Eryka Badu keeps it up, she'll be well on her way to those five kids she talked about having...
