Please Forgive Me! Bishop Thomas Weeks is seeking forgiveness and help in rebuilding his troubled ministry. The 54-year old Pastor made headlines when he went on the run from police after savagely beating his wife, world renowned minister Prophetess Juanita Bynum. Weeks stomped, kicked, beat and choked Bynum in the parking lot of an Atlanta hotel. A bellman had to pull Weeks off of her, as the Bishop threatened to kill her. The attack stunned the world, and now a can of worms is spilling out. Weeks and Bynum married in 2002 in an elaborate million dollar, over the top wedding extravaganza. The couple lived large with the private jets, Rolls Royce, jewelry and millions of dollars.
But, behind the bling and the money, there was trouble in paradise. Sources say Weeks is ready to tell all about the marriage in a new book called What’s On Your Mind. Sources say he is ready to admit it was not easy being married to Bynum. He claims at one point, she threatened him with a rock, and she was known for her temper tantrums. Did Weeks feel uncomfortable in her shadow? When he met her, he had nothing but a small church in D.C. Bynum, on the other hand, was well known. Her sermons were geared to help women empower themselves. Upon meeting Bishop T.D. Jakes, he took her under his wing and she started her ministry. Mega success soon followed, and then she met Weeks. Weeks is out on $40,000 bail, and he has been ordered to stay away from his wife and her sister. Sources say he wants to reconcile with his wife. Weeks is reaching out to church members to help him pay his legal fees, and he’s meeting with a variety of pastors seeking prayer and guidance. Will Bynum’s careers recover from this? Yes! Even more people will be drawn to the Prophetess to hear her story. As for Weeks, he stands to lose millions and a lavish lifestyle. Don’t be surprised if he starts telling stories about the real Juanita Bynum, the story behind the Prophetess. In a statement, Bynum says this too shall pass. Did her husband’s jealousy lead him to beat her up, or was she an out of control Diva causing him to snap? The two had been separated for three months leading up to the attack.

According to published reports, Singer Toni Braxton is battling breast cancer. The 39-year old mother of two originally thought something was wrong with her breast implants, but then the doctors discovered the truth. She is currently undergoing chemo and radiation.
Despite the fact that her ex-husband is planning his own tell all expose, Author Terry McMillan says she will have the last word. McMillan’s ex Jonathan Plummer is releasing his book Balancing Act next month. Plummer’s book tells the tale of a Jamaican man who meets a powerful woman and gets caught up in her world. Their whirlwind romance comes to a halt when he has to tell her the truth: he’s gay. McMillan is planning to tell her side of the story: that of a woman being duped into marriage by a con artist who only wanted access to the USA. McMillan’s book, Don’t Pity The Fool: A Chronicle of Deception and Divorce Hell, is expected to be released next year. McMillan is also planning a sequel to Waiting To Exhale, which follows the lives of the women 15 years later.

Tyra Banks has been managed by Medina for over three years, but they have been clashing lately. Tyra has had enough of the private jets, candles, special orders and all of his perks. Since moving to New York, Tyra is taking an easy approach to life. No more drama! She’s got a new man and a new home. The Tyra Banks Show will now originate from New York. Tyra’s new show will be seen locally at 10am on Fox 29 starting September 10th.
The Godfather of Soul James Brown died on Christmas Day from heart failure, and the battle for his estate has yielded quite a few surprises. Every week it appears another person is claiming he’s their daddy. Dozens of people took DNA tests, and at press time, three people have turned out to be his children. There’s a 45-year old former flight attendant, a man and recently, a Florida woman has stepped forward, but she claims she doesn’t want her identity to be revealed. Oddly enough, the six-year old kid who is thought to be the youngest of the Brown children has yet to take a DNA test. Sources say this is because the child’s mother Tomi Rae Hynie knows that this kid is not James Brown’s, and Brown knew it too before he died. Guardians for “Brown, Jr.” feel if he undergoes a DNA test, it would be very upsetting to his mental state.
Spokespeople for R Kelly are denying reports that the singer is planning a tour later this year. Kelly faces 14 counts of child pornography as his sex trial gets underway next month. A lot of people expressed surprise when word got out that Kelly would be hitting the road with Singer Keyshia Cole. How can he possibly go on tour when he’s on trial? Does R Kelly know something that no one else knows? Hmmmmmmmm!
Producer Jermaine Dupri says there will be no secret wedding when he marries Janet Jackson. Durpi says when the big day comes, he’s going to promote it like a party. Janet is known for getting married in secret, but she won’t be able to do this with Dupri.
Mary J. Blige is not expecting. She and her husband Kendu Isaacs are planning to start a family of their own. When the happy moment arrives, she will announce it.
Oprah Winfrey is anxiously awaiting the start of her new season. The Mighty O will be kicking off the new season in New York.
Is Vivica A. Fox cooperating with the law? Fox has a D.U.I. hanging over her head stemming from a March incident, and she has been ordered by a judge not to drink any alcohol. So what happened at her 43rd birthday party? According to her stylist, Vivica was drinking because he gave her the alcohol. The stylist says he poured some red wine into a can of Red Bull, and she drank it. Spokespeople for Fox say the stylist was disgruntled because he failed to pay Fox her money for promoting his party, and everybody found out about it. They say Fox was not drinking, and she is obeying the judge’s orders.
The 8th and final season of Girlfriends kicks off October 1st on the CW network. Will Actress Jill Marie Jones, who played ‘Toni,” return to the show? Jones left last year over a pay dispute. Producers say if she wanted to come back, she could. Will Actor Richard T. Jones, who played Joan’s love interest “Aaron,” return? He proposed at the end of the season. Richard is already scheduled to star in another TV show, and he’s featured in the Tyler Perry movie Why Did I Get Married opening October 16th.
The new season of Dancing With The Stars is set for September 24th. Mel B (Eddie Murphy’s baby momma) is scheduled to be on the air along with “Mr. Las Vegas” Wayne Newton, Actress Nia Peeples, Boxer Floyd Mayweather, and Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban, to name a few.
After 22 years and three kids, Sabrina Morgan has had enough of her husband Tracey. Tracey Morgan is known for his wild antics drinking, partying and cheating. The former SNL star and current star of NBC’s 30 Rock is currently getting alcohol counseling and treatments. He says he wants to live a sober life, but his wife couldn’t take it anymore. She has filed for divorce.
Singer Deniece Williams is recovering after falling off a stage in Los Angeles. Williams was performing on stage when the accident occurred. She fell six feet, and suffered injuries to her leg and ankle.
Good Morning America Anchor Robin Roberts is healing from her recent cancer surgery. The 46-year old Roberts says the cancer is out of her body, and she will undergo chemo later in the fall.
Usher has signed on to be the new spokesperson for Macy’s fall campaign. He’s also working on his new cologne fragrance and album. Usher’s wife, Tamika Foster, has been lying low and staying out of the spotlight as she prepares to give birth to her fourth child. After the wedding fiasco, she has been advised to stay in the background.
Writer-Director John Singleton (Boyz In The Hood, Rosewood, Poetic Justice, Illegal Tender) was involved in a fatal car crash that killed a woman last week. The 57-year old woman was jaywalking across the street when Singleton hit her with his car. No charges have been filed. Police say no drugs or alcohol was involved. It was a very unfortunate accident.
She’s won the Oscar, now where’s the album? Singer Jennifer Hudson says her new album is coming out in November. She says there will no hip hop on her album because that is not her style. Producers Rodney Jerkins and Jimmy Jam & Terry Lewis are working on the project.
The pop song of the summer had to be Beautiful Girl by new singing sensation Sean Kingston. The 17-year old is on a roll, and I hear he’s been tapped to star in a movie based on the life of “Biggie Smalls,” (The Notorious B.I.G.) A movie based on the famous rapper’s life is due to start filming later this year.
Singer-Songwriter Smokey Robinson will be the latest honoree at the UNCF’s next telethon. The television fundraiser for the United Negro College Fund begun in 1979, and has been long supported by the Motown Legend. The telethon will air early in 2008.
Frankie and the Lady T, together? Yes! Beverly & Maze and Teena Marie are returning to the area. Right now, all we can say is keep your calendars marked for October 7th and Atlantic City.
