Oh man, Sonic! When I was a kid, they were everywhere down here in Texas. Then for a long time they just disappeared from the major cities and in the past 10 years of course have come back with a vengence.
When I was in high school, I drove up to UT a fair amount- and we always stopped at the Sonic in Sealy. My truck still has a big pink stain on the passenger floormat where a giant Cherry Limeade went flying when I took a turn too fast.
6 months into my "change in eating habits" I would probably get sick if I tried, but I often think of my favorite Sonic meal- cheeseburger with mustard, lettuce and extra onions; 2 Sonic sized cartons of tater tots and the movie-theater-popcorn-bucket sized cherry limeade...
Dang, I may have to just go try it this week now...

They're still everywhere in some parts of TX. In the town next to where I live, there are two Sonics about two miles from each other!

Morgantown is big time now! They have a WalMart Supercenter and the Sonic! LOL!
I didn't know that they had more Sonics in Western PA, but the franchisee for Eastern PA has only opened these two. The guy wants to open more, but he hasn't made any decisions on locations...maybe KOP?

PiKA2001 posted a thread about this a while ago. Yep we finally got one but the wait, after a few months being open, is still at shortest 20 minutes. I've heard the food and price are not worth it.

We have about 10 Sonics within 25 miles...they're all over the place!
I like the Lemon-Berry slush and cheese tots.

But then I just remind myself that I am boycotting Sonic since they took the country fried steak sandwich (or as we call it in Texas - chicken fried steak) off the menu. And with the closest Sonic being so far away, it's not hard to do.
Of all the fast food in all the world, nothing beat a chicken fried steak sandwich on Texas toast, onion rings and a ROute 44 cherry-limeade slushie.
Damn, I'm hungry...

get out of my head. there is no sonic near me (well, delaware, but im not driving 2 hours for food)... and when i was in Tally i passed a sonic and got all excited. Only to get to the window to find out the CFS is no longer available. I cried.
i just get blown every time they show a sonic commercial. why dost thou torture me?

They sell the Sonic chicken fried steak sandwich (the breakfast one and the regular meal) at their location on Lindsey and Biloxi....have had one there.

Is it happy hour yet?
And the Sonic ice is what really makes their drinks awesome.

Why does Sonic play with my emotions? I live in New York and I must see their commercials a dozen times a day. Yet there are no restaurants within 69.05 miles of my house. So I had written them an email asking why they spend precious money advertising in cities where a Sonic doesn't exist. They wrote back, "Keep checking the website for future locations!" I said no. But those shakes look damn good.
