I'm going to (pre-emptively) request that everyone keep in mind that there are lots of good people in the greek system at State. Including Josh80 (Phi Psi) and Stan (Delta Sig), who unfortunately don't post anymore.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't navane also an SDSU AXO faculty advisor?

I hope no one misinterpreted my comments. I would feel that way about any college, not just SDSU. The comment by the college's president was just rather unfortunately worded.

She's involved with the GPhiB chapter.

My bad. I remember reading in an old GC thread that she was AXO's Faculty Advisor.

She may also be. Either way, hope neither (and no other) chapter is involved...

OMFG now I remember why I stopped posting at this board.

I WOULD JUST LIKE EVERYONE TO STOP TURNING A BLIND EYE TO THE ISSUE OF DRUGS AT SDSU. I'm not "proud" of being right about it but I'm glad that the police finally stepped up and did something about the problem that everyone secretly knows about.

And yeah, I guess I do feel a little bit like saying "I told you so". BECAUSE I DID.

Anyways I'm out. I hope this sting makes everybody more aware of whats going on. For these 100 kids who were arrested there are probably thousands more that are involved in this crap, and a lot of them are in the greek system.

She was attacked for saying those things last time. I would feel the same way if I was her.

I know that thread was heavily edited, and feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but people agreed with sdsuchelle and acknowledged that drug use was heavy (see OtterXO's post). Several indicated that chapters and the university need to get more involved.

So I don't really get how people "are turning a blind eye to the SDSU drug issue" like she's claiming.

She was attacked for a whole 'nother reason.

Back to the topic at hand.. here is a link with descriptions of some of the arrested:

http://www.fox6.com/media/news/f/3/7...ug_Dealers.pdf

Here are the fraternities listed:

Theta Chi
Phi Kappa Psi
Delta Sigma Pi

... and one of them says "SAE marijuana ring", but I don't know if that means Sigma Alpha Epsilon or SAE stands for something totally different.

The campus newspaper will be a rather interesting read for the next few days and weeks to come.
http://media.www.thedailyaztec.com/m...-3366132.shtml :
Phi Kappa Psi President David Lee said he was shocked when he heard about the drug investigation.

"I had no idea that any member of our fraternity did anything of this nature," Lee said. "We've always had a zero tolerance rule on any illegal substances. This year, we've implemented a harsher rule that anyone using or selling these illegal substances would be kicked out."

Lee said he was unaware of the underground drug trafficking because of the way the fraternity house is set up.

"We only own the chapter house … the members were in their own apartments," Lee said. "They showed no signs of illegal activity."

Lee said out of the individuals arrested, only one is an active member.

"The others are either alumni that are no longer affiliated with this chapter or inactive, where they are also no longer affiliated with this chapter," Lee said.
Many fraternity presidents instructed chapter members to keep quiet during the ongoing media storm.

One of the "Student Drug Dealers" is in Sigma Alpha Mu (although not listed as such on there)...
