I got pulled over today, and I was given a ticket for going 80 on the freeway (as everyone else around me was). The cop gave me a court date that happens to be after I leave for school 1000 miles from home. I asked him if I could possibly have a different date (we have a SHIT rule that under 18, which i am until the fall, if you get two tickets ANYTIME b/w getting your license and turning 18 you have a 6 month suspension) and explained that I needed to challenge it and why, and he said, oh, no problem, you just call the court and they give you a new date. Of course, when I call the court, they say they DONT reschedule and you have to ask the officer when he tickets you - which i DID. I am going to TRY and convince the supervisor to let me reschedule in the morning - but what am I supposed to do, fly home for one day (oh yeah, its the FIRST day of classes too) just so I dont lose my license and by doing so my ID??? (I was "clocked" doing 80, no radar or laser, so i CAN get out of the ticket by explaining I wasnt going that fast)
