I'm 5'4" and have never gone out with anyone shorter than me. But then, what percentage of single men are?

I had one date with a guy that was 5'7". Most men I date are at least 6' tall. I don't have any objection to men that are say 5'9" or taller, but less than that I just don't find them attractive. It's not to say I wouldn't date them, though.

And, if they are skinny (tall or short), forget it.

A couple of years ago, I went on two dates with a short guy (he claimed we were the same height--5 ft. 3 in.--but I was taller than he was even in my flatest flats!). I came to find out on the first date that he was quite loaded. Didn't make any difference. I felt like I was out with a little boy and I just couldn't do it. Perhaps that's shallow, but I figure that if men can prefer a certain body type, I can prefer a certain height! This is the only guy I've been out with who was under 5 ft. 11 in...going back to 8th grade, lol!

OMG! He was shorter than 5 ft 3 in? lol lol lol

I totally agree with you. There's no way on God's green earth am I gonna get serious with a guy who's shorter than me. I'm like 5' 6"/5' 7" somewhere around there, but yes you are SO right. If a guy can prefer a certain body type, then I can have a certain height preference.

I'm only 5'4" so most guys are taller than i am
But once, last semester, I went to the bars with some guy friends
And I danced with one of them and it felt reeeally weird because he was shorter than I was. He was kind of drunk and wouldn't take his hands off me. The attention was nice but I stopped it when he tried to kiss me .
Guys shorter than I am just don't attract me.I think it's because i'm already short so a guy shorter looks just weird to me. However, fi I was like 5'8" or something, I dont think I'd mind as much.

I'm only 5'2", so there aren't too many men out there who are shorter than I am. But height is not as important to me as other factors, like personality, intelligence, and sense of humor.

so many of us 5'2 here!! The only men i've dated have been 6' and up. My mom is about 3'' taller than my dad (i'm shorter than both alas), and it is definitely weird. I'm not the best at judging height (unless you are really tall or short), but somehow, I only go for guys at least 6', go figure.

I can't handle men shorter than I am (5'6). My husband is in the range of 6'3 or 6'4. There a biological factor to all of this - it's not just preference. Instinctively, heterosexual women seek men who are larger than they are. The bigger the man, the more protection he can provide...or so our instincts would have us believe. But, then again, if a man is a giant (clinically), it starts going the other direction because we instinctively see that as abnormal.

I recently took an upper division physical anthropology class and the information we were presented with was that people sought mates of similar height and other characteristics (biological and social) about 85% of the time.

I'm the exact same height as my husband...and he still compliments me when I wear heels...so I don't think he minds, and I know I don't.

I've never dated anyone shorter than me, and only one guy who was more than 4" taller than me.

I'm only 5'5"- and that's when I wake up in the morning. I have not met many men who are shorter than me. I like them between 5'8" and 6'2" in general.

I'm 5'6" and my boyfriend is 6'5" or 6'6"! Yeah, I have to stand on my tippy toes to kiss him. I've dated a guy who was a little shorter than me, and I always found it weird. Even when a guy (dating or not) is seriously the same height as me, I just think he's shorter for some reason. Lol.

Oh but I love being able to wear heels when I'm with my boyfriend. Yay!

I'm just about 5'0, so the height thing hasn't been an issue. I've never even met a guy that wasn't taller than me!
