Newbie,

A mullett is one of those haircuts that's long in the back and short on top. Think David Spade's hair in the movie Joe Dirt.
http://www.mullethunter.com/ is a funny website with all sorts of assorted mullett pictures

Hey Newbie!!!

I have tried the egg thing...numerous times! I use the whole egg though. I haven't done it in a LONG time. I don't know that it did anything that special for my hair. I just did it because I read that it was suppose to be good for your hair ...I believe for the protein. I think the mayonnaise did more than the eggs, but again that's yukkie...it smells so gross. So, I wouldn't really recommend doing the egg thing. I would however recommend the olive oil as a hot oil treatment and the vinegar as a clarifying rinse...they both do a good job.

Let me know if you try any of these, K.

I've edited this because what I wrote seriously sounded gay. Yeah, whatever.

Anyway, I just put a little wax or fiber in my hair, move it around for probably 5 seconds and clump certain parts of it to end up with that "just out of bed" look.

As for hair products, I buy anything in a cool package just because I'm retarded. The stuff that works best is the paul mitchel dry wax or the crew fiber - both come in tins and you really can't put too much in your hair or girls will never play with your hair. The tigi stuff I've used is disgusting, the sebastian stuff is weak, and I can only work the redken replay stuff if i'm going clubbing because it makes my hair a little shiny.

On girls, I like long hair or short hair. Girls with short hair just look "cool" - I'm not sure how to explain that better. The thing with long hair is that it's fun to play with. I love curls on certain girls but on others it gets messy and it's not as fun running your hands through it. I think 99.9% of my girlfriends have been the ones with long straight hair who use those straightening metal things in the mornings when they get out of the shower to make it even straighter i guess (seriously it'd be just as straight if they didn't iron their hair or whatever the do/did).

-Rudey
--Now that I think about it, no matter what I write about my hair, it'll sound gay.

*What's your hairstyle?

My hair is very easy to manipulate
I alternate between:

1 high-fashion/wild with the ultra-
messy spikes going everywhere
2 high fashion/classy with the look once
associated with George Clooney with the
hair slighly shaped in the front
3 low fashion/ultra casual hair down
kinda swooping but not long enough to be
considered so

*Likes/Dislikes about your hair or other ppl's hair? Do you have a fave hairstyle that you like to see on the opposite sex?

I get my hair from both of my parents, it's almost too soft, and needs some sort of hold to exist at all in the outside world, but it's also good because, like Rudey, despite the mousse I use, my hair doesn't get hard at all, and if it does - combing my hand through it once or twice obliviates that problem

I enjoy Girls who have VERY short hair, hair that doesn't come past ones ears practically, quite a bit like Gwenyth Paltrow in 'Great Expectations' or hair that is short and wild/spikey - those are fun I think, polar opposites, but fun both ways, either party, or classy - but both can be achieved with that short hair

*Do you have any fave products for hair?

All the stufff I'm using right now is Physique, shamppo, conditioner, and mousse

My hair is by no means curly, but is thick - and for that reason I absolutely adore straightening shampoo which seems to kinda make it a little more stringy, thus easier to work with

*What's your hairstyle? .
I have long naturally curly hair that is about fifty shades of blonde (naturally). I do straighten it about half the time though because it is so much easier to deal with them. But it comes to past my should blades with an angled cut up front.

*Likes/Dislikes about your hair or other ppl's hair? Do you have a fave hairstyle that you like to see on the opposite sex?

I love my hair. It is versatile and the highlights everywhere are something many people pay for! I get a lot of compliments on my hair. It is really thick though and I live in KY where it is so HUMID!! That is okay though. I hate mullets and I see them everywhere (get with it people!) I hate girls that dye their hair a totally opposite color and then don't touch up the roots (it looks TRASHY!) or women who have bangs that they still curl up and tease (again GET WITH IT!).
*Do you have any fave products for hair?
I am always looking for things. Loreal Curl Vive is good. I love Scruples H2O though if you can find it (they have a volumizing foam that smells so GOOD!) and I also love KMS Root spray. It smells good and gives lift where you need it. You can also use it as a texturizer. For the summer I use Redken ALL SOFT it smells like tanning lotion. YUM!
*Any tips to share
If you have curly hair or frizzy hair it usually is from being dry so wash it every other day and condition it EVERY day. I know it sounds gross but your hair is so much healthier. I get mine cut every three months and I never have dead ends. Another thing, use a detangler if you straighten your hair (Redken again makes an EXTREME DETANGLER with conditioner that works really well!) it protects it from the heat too.

And guys with short hair please! Nothing under the ear lobe. Preferably not Hard as a rock cause then you don't want to run your fingers through it/

Ilovemyglo--you're so lucky!! I would love to have natural highlights in my hair!!! But, I use Feria sometimes, which gives me lots of highlights that ppl thought came from a salon .

KillarneyRose--no problem, let me know how it all works out, ok?

Juniorgrrl--hahahahaha, thank you for the link--now I know what a mullet looks like!!

Shopgirl--should I get the Extra Virgin Olive Oil? I don't have any olive oil in the house right now, so soon I'll go out to the store to get some!! And Ithink I'll stay away from the Mayo for now , the smell makes me nauseous! True story: whenever I eat mayonnaise, with anything other than potato salad, I get a very sick, nauseous feeling!!! Thank you so much for your tips!! You work for Clinique, right? That's so cool!

Hey Newbie...

About the olive oil, I buy the extra virgin olive oil. Since it's best to use that one for cooking and dressings, I just stick with it. It's suppose to be better than regular olive oil, so yeah, do that. I hear ya on the mayo thing...yuk!!! Oh, and I forgot to say which TIGI products I use. I usually use Moisture Maniac b/c I'm so concerned with keeping my hair moisturized. There is also one called Vitamin something or other. I've used that one too. It's lighter than the Moisture Maniac, so that's good, BUT it doesn't smell as good in my opinion. I've tried Control Freak as well, but I think that's geared for a curly hair. I do have the Control Freak gel which tames my frizzies...and that's ALWAYS a plus. And last but not least I've tried Shine Junkie. It's suppose to add shine and tame frizzies. It smells really yummie, BUT I have to be very careful not to use too much, otherwise I'll look like a grease head. So, that's that on the TIGI products. I do recommend them...even if it's just for the scent. Yummie!!!

Yeah, I work for Clinique. It's pretty nice. It can be a lot of fun at times, but like all jobs there's a down side too. I think the pros out way the cons. It's not forever, so I try to enjoy it while I'm there. Thanks for asking. BTW, what year are you? Are you graduating this year or next?

Hi Shopgirl!!

Thanks so much for telling me all about the TIGI products...I love things that smell good! I'm so mad at myself...I totally forgot which hair prodcut which I had used/tried long time ago...but the product smelled like cookies n' cream!! YUMMY!! YOu know, I just dyed my hair today (I'm a hairdye fanatic, LOL!) an auburn-ish color, but unfortunately, on my hair, it only shows up as a black-red-auburn color...but anyway, I used Feria this time, and whenever I use Feria...my hair always smells sooo good! I think it's b/c of the conditioner...I love it! It's such a wonderful deep conditioner .

I just had a question...do you know how to re-touch your roots by yourself after you dye your hair? I don't know if you're the right person to ask (don't know if you dye your hair or not), but I thought you might know . The directions for re-touching your roots are soo complicated!

Thanks for the tip on the extra virgin olive oil! Does adding olive oil to your cooking taste good? I've never had any (or I don't think I have!), so I wouldn't know!

Right now, I'm using the Moisture In-Control by Clinique and it's awesome! It doesn't make me feel greasy! Oh, I'll be graduating next year--I'm only a junior in HS (yeah, I guess I might be a bit overprepared for rush!). Have you graduated from the U of A already? And last but not least,
GO WILDCATS!!! haha

Hi Newbie!!!

That's great that you are so prepared for rush. I wish I had more resources and had been involved a little more before I went through, but hey, that's o.k.

Unfortunately I have NO IDEA about retouching hair. I don't dye my hair but I have been thinking about highlights. I'm naturally blonde, but as I've gotten older, and am not in the sun as much (which is good anyway b/c the sun gives you wrinkles ), my hair is a little darker. However, I'm a little apprehensive about it AND I don't want to have to deal with the touch up thing. Anyway, so that's that.

About those conditioners that come in the hair dye boxes...my little sister has been on a rampage with hair dye and so I've had the oppurtunity to try those conditioners. I LOVE THEM!!! I wish I could buy them seperately. But oh well, what can you do?

About the olive oil. It is suppose to make your food taste better, but more than that it's healthier for you. If you can, ALWAYS substitute vegetable oil, even canola oil, for olive oil. I eat pretty healthy, but I can get better, so that's what I'm trying to do and that's what I've found out (about the olive oil) in my quest for a healthier life style.

Later Gator

My hair is a living, breathing thing all it's own.

Hair Type

What month is it?

LOL, right now:
middle of my back, black, straight

What I hate about my hair
~I'm not liking the length right now, but I'm keeping it long until the wedding is over. Afterwards, It's getting chopped ALL off to a extremely short 'do' (hopefully).
~I have extremely thick, course hair. It accepts curl well, but my hair NEVER does what I want it to.
~it takes me an hour to blow dry it, but if I don't blow dry it, it lookes extremely crazy and frizzy.
~I haven't seen a stylist since January and i'm dying to go because my hair is really in need of a trim and a re-dye and I usually go at LEAST every 2 months, but I will be going this weekend or next week (hopefully the weekend)

What I like about my hair
~it accepts curl and chemicals well
~my hair is SUPER HAIR--it grows extremely fast. My hair was about 3-4 inches long on top a year and a half ago and now it's to the middle of my back. While most people's hair grows an average of about 1/2 inch a month, mine grows between 1 and 2 inches a month.

Products I use
Panteen straight and sleek shampoo and conditioner
VO5 frizz and shine control
Paul Mitchel gel (used that when I had a perm in the winter, but works on my straight hair to help weight it down so it's not so 'big')
hot oil

Mine: Shoulder length black hair with brown highlights, I usually blow dry it straight, but every now and then I wear my hair naturally, curly.

Dislikes about my own hair: When it's curly I can't even bring a comb through it!

Likes about opposite sex hair: White guys with longer hair and black guys with shorter or no hair.

Favorite hair product: Frizz-ease!!!
