i forgot one!! Pledge class namesakes are the initials of the Pledgemaster, VP of Servce and Membership, and President. For example, mine in the Fall of 2000 was Lambda Pi Alpha:

Lambda (L for Lambert, last name of VP Service and Lorie, first name of VP Mem)
Pi (P for Pelletier, last name of President)
Alpha (A for Angie, first name of Pledgemaster)

We have a lot of the same traditions, like paddle/jersey exchange between big/littles; nicknames given by bigs to littles, toga party every fall, banquet every spring, paper plate awards, turtle ceremonies. The chapter I work with now has never seen a jersey and there are no nicknames either. Amazing the difference between chapters and areas of the country!
