Fake Blondes
I'm considering dying my red hair blonde. I'm wondering if anyone here has pulled it off and does it actually look good?

Honestly, I'd say go slow. Get highlights first, don't go for a straight bottle job to blonde.
I'm a natural blonde, but I died my hair a dark chocolate brown about a year ago. To get it back to blonde, I've just had to let the die kind of grow out, now I'm getting highlights. Eventually, my stylist will be able to do a straight dye job back to blonde (as weird as that sounds).

Don't dye all your hair blonde. You'll look washed out. I naturally have light brown/dark blonde hair and I add some highlights to it during the summer. I don't have the guts to dye it completely blonde. Currently, I'm light brown again since it's the winter.

I bleached my hair when I was in high school, to a platinum blonde. It seemed to be the thing to do at the time, but being a redhead, there was always someone commenting on the red roots. Every now & again, I have some blonde to strawberry blonde streaks put in, but I'd never go back to the full tilt blonde.

Yes I love the look of blonde hair and how much lighter it was when I was younger but I dont think I could stand the maintenance.

what about fake brunettes? i went the opposite way.
at least i think i did.
what happens if i don't remember my natural color? i think it was dirty blonde, even though i hate calling it dirty; it infers i don't wash my hair.
