But if every thread is closed after 3 posts, what's the point of the forum? Eventually, PNAIs would realize that the entire forum is nothing but locked posts, and stop posting there. I realize that the goal would be accomplished, but isn't that a bass-ackward way of doing it? Wouldn't just deleting it be easier?

Heh, I knew it was a matter of time before the AIs on the list would be called hypocrites.

Yeah, I figured that was coming. It was helpful to me AT THE TIME, but the subforum's time has come and gone. I still say con.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong... but, I think the reasoning behind this is so there would still be a place for PNAIs to post their story. But, if any PNAIs get too specific or solicit recommendations, then that thread will get locked. So, every thread wouldn't be closed after 3 posts, but the way the atmosphere here been around here lately, I'm sure it would be a great deal of them (avoiding the term "majority" so as to avoid being vague or misleading).

At least, that's the way I interpreted the whole thing.

I'm con. Mainly because I think the PT and Carnation do enough without having to add those additional "policing" responsibilities.

Wow, I can' t believe I actually voted on this.

I'm in favor of letting people talk about what they want to as much as possible. It makes no difference to me if it's in on a combined AI subforum in the recruitment section or AI subforum in each GLOs forum.

Unless it is just to post their success stories after the fact!

Although I think there should be a forum for alumnae initiates, just not under the recruitment heading -- maybe under alumnae involvement. Also it should be made clear that it is NOT a place to solicit recommendations or information about AI-ing.

I know for a fact that there are people on a national level who aren't happy about how much discussion about AI has been going on around the internet. I would rather have Phi Mu AIs who were sought out for who they are and their deeds... not someone who has treated AI like continued open bidding.

I'd also like to add, that I would love to see this forum stay up, IF there were strict guidelines that this forum was for during/after stories and isn't used as a recruitment tool. AND people on here need to stop meeting other GCers on the internet and helping them through AI. AI is a little more serious than GC.

Three was a random number. (Yes it is.. )

I meant, some small number of posts...definitely minus any snark.

I don't think it's backwards. In fact, it can help us see how much interest there is in AI. None of us currently on GC are privy to that information through our HQs, AFAIK. So why not let it be discussed here?

ETA: Oh, and for the record, just because I believe there should be an AI forum does not mean I strongly believe in AI for the masses. In fact, quite the opposite. AI is for the VERY select few.

If the sub-forum contained stories about life after AI, I would support it. For example, how an AI struggled to learn fraternity education, how an AI feels when around regularly-initiated sisters, highs and lows since going through the process, etc. However, it seems that the only threads that anybody posts to are the "I am trying to AI" stories. These trouble me greatly. I don't really want a ZTA (or any GLO) alumna encouraging a freakshow to proceed with AI into my fraternity.
