Age range of AI's?
I'm just wondering if at 37, I'm the "grandma" of a possible future AI.
Is there anyone else that would like to share the age they were when they were initiated as an AI?

No, from an NPC AI standpoint, on GC, there has been women from their mid to late 20's up to young 40s (to my knowledge).
As for the post immediately above mine, in terms of the historically African American sororities, to my understanding, yes, they do have women become members after college and I think the age range can vary widely, but unlike the NPC GLOs, they don't refer to it as "alumnae initiates" (and I do not know what the correct term would be).
I don't want to comment further since I am not a member of an NPHC GLO and I feel that it would be improper of me to do so.

I'm 28. I do not know where would that put me in the range. Curiously, it was 10 years ago that I went through sorority rush at my undergrad school. But it did not work out back then because the timing was off. This time, everything is much better.

Like 2 yrs ago my chapter had an AI that was around 50-60. She could have been older.

Age is not an issue! GLO's are looking for quality members. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think there are actually GLO's that have stipulations that you have to have been out of undergrad for a certain amount of years and be at least a certain age?

I was initiated in 2005 so I would have been 27(?) when I was initiated. I started the process when I was 26 though.

Don't worry about the age thing. I was 52 when I was initiated - I think I have everyone beat so far. No one thought it was weird; no one brought it up at all. Good luck with your pursuit!

I was 26 when I was initiated as an AI. From the postings here, clearly there has been a wide range of ages at initiation. Hooray for sisterhood at all ages!

Age is not a limiting factor for AI. As chapter president my younger sister initiated the grandmother of one of our Alumnae Advisors (who was then in her 60s but served the club and chapter in many ways until her death last year) as well as a graduate student who had just finished a year as House Director to a nearby chapter (she was 24). At 37, your age is certainly not a factor to be concerned about.

I was initiated as a Gamma Phi Beta AI last year at age 33. I like to think I'm still quite young at heart!

 oh to true!
Age in AI is irrelivant, it is the feeling of being or wanting to be an AI and what You do with it that people feel good about you!
