Interesting
It seems like anyone who is on Oprah for an extended period of time eventually gets their own show...I wonder what ever happened to Oprah's best friend Gayle. I know she had her own show.

Not good
I've seen both shows and I have to say their both sucky, what a waste of tv time. Unimaginative and typical. I'll give Ananda one more chance next week, because I slept through the episodes I tried to watch. But somehow I think I still won't like it

Today was the first day I actually WATCHED the Ananda Lewis show and I was definetly dissapointed (sp?). She reminded me of a younger Oprah. The show was about how what happened 9/11. I'm interested to see how long it will last.

Neither Iyanla nor Ananda's shows are that great. They are cookie cutters of other talk shows.
Add Ananda and Iyanla, then stir=Oprah Winfrey. *yawn*

Ananda Lewis had a good show on today? did anyone catch it...
It was called "MARRY ME"...of course it has been done on other shows, but i liked it. Basically, the guys went to school to learn how to pop a question..they call came out in tuxedos and in their own way asked their significant other to marry them. ...One girl said yes but also surprised her man by telling them they were expecting a baby. I thought it was cute
She's also given a trip to Jamaica away...(it's a sweepstakes)

"Our Sisters Talk Shows"
I feel as though both women, Ananda and Iyanla are very positive women. They may not be receiving high show ratings, but they both deal with real life issues at times. There is something about their shows that is really odd. I just can't put my hand on it at this time. Nevertheless, I think they are GREAT, they show great effort. Let's support our sisters.

I guess the thing that upsets me is that these are Black women who could use their clout/air time to promote worthwhile causes but instead they have shows on jilted brides and how to decorate your house. I have caught some informative shows but not often.

Well personally I liked the show today on Ananda...but I'm usually at school or my field placement so today was a treat! and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Oprah is more for older people now so I watch seldomly.

I know Iyanla has been cancelled but what is the status of Ananda? And Michael Baisden lost his show as well.

As far as I know, Ananda is not going to be cancelled. I wonder if Iyanla will go into syndication---not like I liked the show, but a lot of people do.

Honestly, they have not set themselves apart from anyone. They are all fake-wanna-be Oprah's. The deal is that African American woman need to be more positive ontheir outlook instead is concentrating on th epast. We need to concentrate on where we are going. They do not do that. It is all redundant to me.
