I have this one as well - I will say that I do wear a larger cup size, and honestly, this bra has provided more than enough support without giving me the "extra" clevage. I originally bought it for a wedding I was in, and have used it for many other occasions since then!

I ended up buying four bras because they were on sale. I agree that after being properly fitted my clothes did fit better.
Every so often department stores also have sales ads when a they have professional fitters(?) available.

I got "fit" at Lane Bryant too. She told me I wore a 36DD, so thats what I bought, and they never fit properly.
I went to Intimacy in Atlanta, and was shocked to find out I'm a 34FF! (that's in European sizes, that would be a DDDD in US sizes). But my bras feel great and I look 100% better because my bras actually fit properly!
I suggest every woman go to a lingerie shop and get fitted, its amazing the difference between a VS/Lane Bryant fitting and a lingerie fitting.

If you're properly fitted the bra should not only be supportive but it won't make your boobs or your clothing look funny. You're looking at spending some money, but it's totally worth it to have a properly fitted bra.

Ditto.
Each one of my bras was at least $50, but they are the best bras I ever owned. You save money in the end because you don't go through the cheap ones.

I have the same problem. I could definitely go braless, but, well...I just feel naked without one.
I don't know of any "real" lingerie stores around here. We do have a Victoria's Secret, so I might look there and try the one several of you all suggested. I'm willing to shell out the $$$ if I happen to find a great bra, though, because practically all of my summer tops are halters or spaghetti straps and it will most certainly get used a lot.

Well, I finally found one today! I tried on the VS one that several of you mentioned but it still made me look funny, however, I did find another one at Victoria's Secret that worked. It's one of the new Intimissimi (sp?) convertible bras, and I like it because it doesn't feel like a straitjacket when I put it on. It looks kinda flimsy, actually, but I definitely don't need much support so it's OK. It doesn't have three rows of hooks, rubber strips, ultra-heavy-duty reinforcing or anything else I don't need, so I'm happy. Now I can go throw my old stretched-out one away.

I was sad afterwards....its sucks being so top-heavy.

I feel you I am a D as well and I just strike out every time I try to find a bra that not only fits well, but is also cute.
Isn't Intimacy in Phipps Plaza? I'd like to go there and see what they have.

As a D myself, I have figured out that all the bra designers got together and decided that if you are bigger then a C, you don't need cutesy/sexy bras to make your boobs appealing, they speak for themselves.

I'm a D too, and I have yet to find a good strapless bra. I will avoid wearing something that I have to go strapless in because of this. I'll eventually have to find a bra though.

I tried wearing one a long time ago. They were quite uncomfortable. Whevever I wear a sleeveless shirt or fancy dress, I just wear no bra at all.

I hate bra designers.
I got fitted about a year ago in the lingerie section at Dillard's and the nice little Chinese woman fitting me starting shaking her head and clucking her tongue saying, "Oh we don't have this size here." She told me I was a 32DD! I actually started crying, thinking I was going to have pay $100s of dollars for specially fitted bras. I went to VS, determined to be resized and at least a D and they told me that I was really a 32 1/2 DD (I swear they were making up the 1/2!!! Either way, it is a size that no one makes), so I should wear a 34.
I'm still wearing 34D strapless bras.... just not often... because I can't find strapless bras in my size!

I'd be thrilled to find a strapless bra in my size! I really can't remember the last time I wore a tank top. I really don't know how to put it nicely, but I'm rather well-endowed, and can hardly find bras. I'd really love to find another underwire bra, as most bras in my size are "sleep" bras, and honey, when you're as big as me, you need all the support you can find.
mulattogyrl--curvation sells really good strapless bras, and they're fairly cheap.

Well if you are a D and can't find a good strapless bra..then I guess a G like me doesn't even need to get my hopes up.

I just had to do that at a formal I went to, and I had a halter dress.
Thank God for double-sided tape
@Alpha Frog: Don't you hate that?? I would love to wear a bra in colors OTHER than black, white or beige... When I go bra shopping and see all the other cute ones, arrgghh...I just have to leave the store sometimes.

Agreed 100% I'm a DDD and finding bras that are cute and give good support is impossible!

It's true. I haven't been a C since the summer after freshman year of high school. Since then I think I've had one or two cute bras, and that's it. I hate it.
