IPod Question

my options is in the correct setting where I manage the songs and playlist. Why can't I save my playlist to my ipod?

I think I'm getting ready to have to send my iPod back for the 4th or 5th time. I've gotten to where I can kind of correct the problem temporarily so I've been battling the Sad iPod icon for a few weeks now and been having to reset it when it stalls for a few months now...I updated it, I've restored it, I've restored it again....I love the thing...but I can hate it too.

I've never met anyone who has had as much trouble with an iPod as I have had. Particularly since I take such good care of it....
