The answer to that is cost and consumption. We have to spend and we consume alot more now than people did say 20 years ago.

Pretty much. We overconsume! (Heck I do too.) Sometimes something simple like getting rid of the Super Delux Mega Digital Cable system and cutting off lights when you leave a room will have you some $$$.
I work two jobs and hate it. So to cut back my hours on the second job, I cut back on the home phone (I mostly use my cell phone), cut the Super Delux Mega Cable to Basic w/HBO, and purchased two space heaters I saved: Cell: $20. Cable: $50. and Gas: $50.
I also limit fast food lunches to once a week. (This forces me to eat healthier too)
If you know any simple money saving tips please share. Everything is so expensive.

Has anyone else read the Stephanie Plum novels by Janet Evanovich? That's all I can think of when I think Bail Bonds work. I don't have a side hustle, but b/c of my day job, I'm really limited in potential hustles. I know a few people who do prepaid legal and real estate on the side. If only I could figure out a way to make money from all the time I spend doing Sorority stuff.........

Well I am a shop-a-holic. I haven't shopped in almost 2 months because I want to save money because life happens, and in case it happens again, I want to have money to fall back on. Its been rough but I've disciplined myself.

Speaking of Prepaid legal what exactly is that. Is it selling legal services to people. I went to a convention and I saw that they were having a conference and I was curious. Also, your friends that do real estate on the side, what exactly do they do because I have been thinking about doing appraisal............I'm glad I'm not the only one needing a second part-time job. I'm really trying to do something at home, but seems like most of the stuff in not legit.

I'm also considering a second income. I used to work two jobs while I stayed in Alabama while going to AAMU. Now that I've moved to Georgia, I'm making good money to get me by and get my bills paid. I also still have a little extra money left over to eat out and shop. I just feel as if I need an extra job for my CC debt that I've made, or I need to rebudget and stop going out to eat all the time and buying electronics. Hmmmm........
If I do consider a second job on a serious level, I will do something along the lines of a desk clerk at a hotel or data entry. Nothing that is gonna bring extra stress. The job I have now brings all kinds of things to the table in the stress dept.

I need one too. Just my responsiblilities for the job will be showing up on time and greeting the customers. That's all. My main job, I have alot of responsibilities, so I want one where someone else had to do the running around, the decision making, dealing with different personalities, and all that stuff.

Coming out of the woodwork...if you are considering real estate as a part time career be aware that it takes a lot of time. If you don't already have potential clients then you maybe digging a hole for yourself. The majority of real estate companies want their agents to work toward full time positions and require you to pay some sort of monthly dues (usually around $150) per month. To give you an idea of the financial commitment. I pay $400 per year for a realtor membership, $124 per month company dues and all marketing cost. These fees have to be paid if you sell a house or not. I forgot to mention the gas and car repairs and upkeep.
I also thought that if you became an apprasier you have to do like two years under an experienced apprasier. I think these are often volunteer hours.
The easiest part time I had was as a waitress. The money is good and the job can be easy.
Good Luck

Prepaid legal is basically a pyramid scheme. People pay a monthly fee and have access to lawyers/legal advice. You try to sign people up and you get a kick back monthly [until they cancel]. Then if the people you bring in bring in other people, you move up the ranks. The service itself is decent, but if you're not a people person you won't make money selling it.
The person I know who's involved in real estate on the side has GREAT credit and basically will buy a lot in nearby new releases of housing developments, hold onto it until the house is acutally built, then sell it. Most of the time she only holds onto them for six months or less. Some of them she never even sees in person. It's flip w/o any singificant improvements.
