Does anybody do anything for a second encome? I'm thinking about become a bailbondsmond. I don't want to do anything really hard. Hopefully something at home to bring in extra money.

I just got a job working at Dillard's. I work in the juniors department. It's ok

I need a second job too. I work for the state and the pay is very very little.:( :(

I am looking for a 2nd job too, just for money to stash away. I currently sell make-up. This is just for a little spending money. I have been reading up on other things that are more lucrative and will help stash away for the future.

Yeah - Overtime. Problem with that is - if I work too much of it, they tax the heck out of me. :(

At the moment, I'm doing over-time on my job plus some medical transcription on the side.

Do what I do for extra money: work manual labor for a staffing service. If nothing else, it will take care of lunch and gas money, and you can work 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift. If you don't mind working around the clock (so to speak) and can use the $$, you can make a nice little hunk of change on the side.

Depending on the staffing company, you can make as little as $5.50/hr up to $15/hr. (or more). If you establish a good reputation with the company's clients, you can pretty much pick and choose the assignments and shifts you want to work. I knew a woman who was an ordained minister who worked with the same labor staffing service for 10 YEARS!!

It's worth a shot. Check it out.

I worked at H&R Block for one season. Another time, I worked at a retail store over the Holiday season.

Lately, however, my second job has been grad school

The bad part is that there is no overtime, only comp time.

I need a part time job too.

I've been reading all kinds of books looking for something.......... I'm really interested in doing something at home, but nothing seem legit, that's why I'm leaning to becomming a Bailbondsmon......I don't know.

I worked part time as a photographer while in undergrad. Depending on your other experience and who you work for (ex: department stores), the training is EASY and fun.

I prefer studio work because there are regular hours and a steady location - you can schedule yourself accordingly instead of having to lug your equipment all around and playing with mother nature. I haven't done this for a few years (grad school = no time), but now i'm thinking of working PT with a bridal boutique to stack some $$ for upcoming expenses.

I worked for the state and the pay was horrible so I worked as a waitress part time. Of course that's not something you could do at home, but you get paid in cash and you get taxed on as much as you claim. Also, I would make about $75-100 working 5 hours on a weeknight.

treblk 02-13-2006 06:41 PM

my brother works part time in the mall, 3 days a week from 6pm to close (9:30 or 10 pm) and makes about $300 per pay period. It aint much, but enough to pay a bill or two and put gas in the car. retail is always a nice part-time gig imo, but I'm with Mccoyred, grad school is my second job! Where did my evenings and nights go:(

gamma_girl52 02-14-2006 10:31 AM

I'm glad I'm not the only one :(
I'm applying for a part-timer at Macy's today.

DC_Zeta1920 02-14-2006 11:55 AM

I used to have a second job in undergrad.

Grad school is kicking my tail, there is no way in hayle I'll be able to handle a second job. :(
