Question Policing Powers

I really do not think the jobs of ELCs should be considered Policing Powers.

They are to work with Zetas, discuss problems and point out needed changes if needed.

They are no different than any Representative of any Company. Make a report back to HQ. They are not to be hatchet Men. They are after all Brothers Just as We are.

I dont really know so cannot say for surety about How many GLOs have paid staff to do visitations and are not just Volunteers. I think We should be damn thankful that We have ELCs. They can work with Zetas and point out problems that need to be taken care of and thus reported.

Get out of the mind set that everyone is out to get you if you dont mind. Your Zetas Past is in the Past. I am sure that there is not a Brother amongst us who would not like to have Gamma Zeta Reopened.

More Positive and Less Negative may be in order if anything will happen there. It was tried during 2004 GA.

I have not heard from what came from that even though some of us did have contact with the you ng men from the Local who were living in the Old Gamma House.

Hi Tom,

What I said is a positive, not a negative. I think relationships would be alot better between chapters and elc's if the chapters could really open up to them. Maybe some sort of confidentiality. I do think Elcs are good and necessary.

For instance, maybe a chapter has a problem with hazing, but a few disapprove of it. They could go to the elc for help in changing their chapter for the better, without the risk of shutting it down immediately or being alienated from their friends or brothers. Maybe the ELC could tackle the problem head on, without involving IHQ.

As for the Gamma house, ZBT is now living in it. Nothing has changed. The roof is still falling apart. Looks like hell. Doesn't look like a dime has been spent in three years improving it. A couple weeks ago there was a stabbing in front of the house by a couple of ZBT brothers. Unfortunately, the ZBT chapter still has alot of thugs from when I was at school there. Our house is not in good hands.

I would have thought that being the very first chapter house, with historical significance, and being the first/second chapter, that IHQ would begin something to restore it. Several of our brothers contacted IHQ, and they basically got a "we'll think about it in a couple of years."

Too late IHQ. We have/had a vibrant, close young alumni group from the last couple years willing to work to reopen it. Most are in the Boston area, a few in Western Mass. But now they have some time and expendable $$$ to put into it. Guess IHQ doesn't care though.

Smile

GammaZeta,
I am sure no one on Site would like to have The Zeta reopened any more than You.

I just feel that with The New Leadership that I have delt with and The Fine Reports from many about ELC visits that the Old Leadership has been replaced with a stronger one.

I never before had as much response from IHQ before concerning LX Z as now.

With the sliming down for Budget purposes it will be extemely hard to do everything at once. I am sure with the cost involved in trying to resart Gamma at UMass. it would be an expensive proposition.

In response to the Re-Building of Gamma Zeta, I am sure it would be a priority if possible. I do know that there was the contact with the Local that was envited to G A 2004 and many of us met the two young men and contacted them afterwards but to no avail. I still dont know what became of them to this day.

If as You say, there are a strong core of Alums, then work with them and build the Brotherhood back again. Granted, it will be a very tough chore, but with You passion, I think You can do it.

Dont ever give up the ship so to speak!

Gamma Is a very Important part of LXA History!

Hi Tom,

One of the alumnis told me that the kids in the house were not interested in LXA. Also, I believe that the local they started is now defunct.
