The big fat peppermint candy that was divine with a cold glass of water.....not at all like the little, cheap imitation kind they have now.

what you know about dem Grippos potato chips? Hometown is in the house! (somebody go tell Wen08!)
I was down with the "honeybuns, now'nladers and the Boston baked beans."
Usually you only saw the girls wearing/eating them but remember the candy necklaces? By end of a hot summer day, after sucking on the candy beads, their necks were 3 shades of purple. ....yall are taking it back there!

Man, we took that stuff seriously, me and my friend used to pour the powder into our hands and snort it, thinkin' it made us look cool. All it did was burn our noses off.
I grew up in the suburbs, the only corner store I had was 7-11.

Is my corner store the only that had that kitchen? You could get some okra, potatoe wedges, chicken, burritos, and anything else you could throw in some grease.
Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!
Hey yall didn't use to eat Fun Dip??? Me and my cousin Charles fought over that mess. Then Gramma Susie would give us the business over spilling it all over the place. Bad a** kids.

Gold Star? you meant to say Skyline chili, right? Cincy's home but I don't live there anymore. I'm trying to get Wend08 to send me a care package but she still trippin'
...dang, I had forgot about Butternut Bread. But I do miss LaRosa's Pizza and the fact that you can find a United Dairy Farmers on like EVERY other corner in the city.
/end hijack

Now that I am really thinking back on it (and this was in 1998)..Skyline was better. I may have just gotten my places confused. LOL
I totally forgot about La Rosas....I may need to take a 3-day road trip just for the food. There was this one place where I got this bomb sandwich one afternoon. The place was in Evanston but I totally forgot what its called.
Shame on you WenD08

Our corner store had a kitchen. We had the same things in addition to hot corn beef sandwiches, chicken livers and gizzards and every type of pork rinds you could imagine!
And how could I forget about my favorite candy: SLAPSTICKS!

All this talk has me hungry for some gizzards. I think I'll have to go to Lee's Famous Recipe and get a gizzard dinner.
