Yay it's an ASA thing, I just got this too. I finally feel like I'm listening to a Mariah album again (like the first two).

my latest CD purchase:
Quote:
Label: Intrada Special Collection Volume 21
Date: 1978
Tracks: 26
Time = 56:32
World premiere of actual soundtrack to Peter Hyams political thriller/sci-fi triumph with James Brolin, Sam Waterston, O.J. Simpson, Elliot Gould, Hal Holbrook. Legendary action score by Jerry Goldsmith was previously issued as impressive but truncated 36-minute re-recording made in Europe. Intrada proudly presents complete score from original session masters made at MGM. As recorded for film, Goldsmith originals offer totally different listening experience: greater complexity, expansion of rhythmic ideas, more orchestral detail - plus numerous sequences not included in re-recording. Unique film editing of action scenes gives "pause and effect" feel. Goldsmith mirrors pace with "start and stop" action setpieces. "Break Out" remains crown jewel of his action career. As re-recorded for LP, composer re-writes tour-de-force, edits all sustained ideas. Film version offers dramatically different experience. Towering above all is greater dynamic range and presense of justifiably famous low brass ostinato. Previously unavailable highlight: brief but imposing trombone/tuba figure for initial appearance of killer helicopters. Through combined efforts of film licensor, American Federation of Musicians and Intrada, exciting special limited CD presentation offers complete score in dynamic stereo plus detailed liner notes by Jeff Bond, dramatic graphics by Joe Sikoryak. Jerry Goldsmith conducts. Limited edition of 3000 copies.

My latest purchase was the new Lifehouse cd, the one with "YOu and Me". I love that song, and I really like this cd - which is rare for me. I almost never can listen to a full cd without going back to the couple of songs I like. But I recommend this one.
Also Doobie Brothers Greatest Hits. Great cd.
