I was there three weeks ago for a small convention - didn't get to do a whole lot, but I've been there several times before - there is always tons to do!

Ybor is more or less a dive now. It usually isn't worth the drive there. Much better places in tampa and clearwater. You should make a trip up to Tarpon Springs, about 10 miles north of Clearwater. It is a greek sponge diving town. Lots of great food and cool little shops. Just north of Clearwater is alittle town called Dunedin and honeymoon island is out there it is always listed as one of the top beaches

When you go to Tampa, remember it is spelled Publix not Publics. You might get shot. You can even get gas at the Race Trak or Pb. Muvico has a hustlas discount for 6.25, although the chairs are jenky. St. Pete is the hood, and tampa has the WORSE sand you will ever come across in your life. In fact, its not sand. Its freaking sea shells. So enjoy your feet miss UL Chi O QT.

remember to Check Gas at Long Bridge and to stay away from a tan Altima along the 275 because that homie has crazy road rage and will probably shoot you if you say or look at them the wrong way.

Oh and if you feel like running along Bayshore blvd, make sure you stop and take a wiff of the awesome air. And while you are at it, I triple dog dare you to take a swim in the water. It has a beautiful minty flavor that is to die for.

i second the "columbia restaurant " suggestion. wonderful paella!!

tampa is slightly inland on a bay(appropriately named tampa) so if you want to go to the beach you will need to head west over one of the causeways to either clearwater, treasure island or st. petersburg.

oh, by the way, you might want to check out the florida aquarium in tampa, its a nice place to while away a few hours. and you are not far from disney and sea world in orlando.

Lol I just got back from St. Pete last night! I loved it there....altho I'm sure the death rate is high.... seeing as though most of the population is very old people. We did kinda drive through some bad part on the way to the Pier... but the Pier was awesome. And I remembered that Check Gas sign at Long Bridge. That's one long ass bridge.

Are there any grocery stores near the airport? I am staying in a complex about 5 mins away. I will have a kitchen, so I just thought i'd ask. Will they have a Publix??? haha. I know they have those in Panama City, because that's where we go to get our groceries when we are on vacay. They have sushi there...yum!
