The Cops in KY SUCK! I feel your pain! They have nothing else to do so they pull over random people and interrogate them. It's wrong and something needs to be done about cops that are on a power trip!

These are both valid points. OP hasn't said whether or not they WERE harassing people at the school or what happened with that. People don't tend to report license plate numbers for no reason. And the OP didn't deny it.

Also, a cop is doing his job if he sees a car randomly pulled over on a deserted road with people in it. You could've been in distress, broken down, ill, being kidnapped or raped, or very logically smoking up.

Dude, you just have to understand that cops are those guys in highschool that always wanted to be cool and popular but never were. Thats their whole problem. Thats why they harass guys like me and people like you, they wanted to be like us but never could. Most of them are ultra-conservative and they all seem to have the mentality of "The bigger the bust the better the boost" Thats why they're always looking to nail someone for drugs. But the fucked up thing is that many of them just take your shit for themselves. Sometimes they'll let you go and other times they wont. I'm almost positive many of them pocket some of the drugs they arrest people for but leave just enough for evidence.

One thing I've learned, and any guy whos had to deal with plenty of cops, is that you can't win with those fuckers. Arguing with them isnt going help a bit. You just have to suck up, say yes-sir and deal with some bitchin. The only two options are either getting a fine or going to jail......and I don't want either.

We had an incident once where this cop my friend Travis knew from his half-sister's side of her family tried to give him shit one night while out at the beach. And it wasnt just him but all of us him and his cop buddies were talking shit to. And it all had to deal with custody rights to his sister. Well, we were drunk and travis and a couple other friends had GHB on them in eye drop bottles and all of us were trashed. So when the cop started running his mouth and his little shrimpy ass cops buddies started to act like they were going to stomp us....out conversation went like this:

Cashmoney: What, am I supposed to be intimidated because you have a badge?

Cop1: What did you just say?

Cashmoney: You heard me, doughnut muncher.

Cop2: Thats it, up against the wall. Put your hands behind your back.

Cashmoney: Oh, so now your going to handcuff me after all of you walk up to us and harass us over a family issue between one of us and one of your fellow cops. Wait untill the news stations find out about this (keep in mind this is right when Jacksonville was having horrible publicity for dirty cops and while another cop shot an innocent person as well as a sherriff deputy going on a shooting spree before killing himself and his wife)

Cop3: Wait. lets see some ID. (they don't cuff me)

Cop1: I think the best thing for you guys right now is to go home and don't come back to the beach for 6 months.

Cashmoney: Why are you trying to come at me as if you have some authority as to where I can and cannot walk.

Cop3: Hey, buddy, careers don't matter here. From one person to another, don't let us see you guys around here for awhile.

Cashmoney: (as I'm getting ready to walk away) No, trust me, careers do matter a lot right now. (they werent catching on to the fact that we'd stomp those fuckers in the ground if they didnt have badges)

After that told told us to get the fuck on. But thats one reason why I can't stand cops is because of shit like that. They abuse their authority for personal reasons. Even though I was drunk and it happened 2 years ago.....I still remember it clear as day and I don't think I'll ever forget that night.

First of all, she's a she. Second of all, what are the odds that this is actually true? I'm not sure how much experience you have with the criminal "justice" arena, but COPS MAKE UP BOGUS REASONS TO BOTHER PEOPLE ALL THE TIME ESPECIALLY IF SAID PEOPLE ARE BLACK. Whether or not someone smokes pot or has smoked pot in the past has NOTHING to do with stopping her NOW. A police officer must have PROBABLE CAUSE to stop and question someone, but the funny thing is that police make up probable cause all the time ("Someone called in your plates" or "You have a cracked tail light") even when it's bogus. What's worse is that once the police make a bogus stop and the case ends up in court, depending on where you are, the judge will ALMOST ALWAYS believe the police over the defendant, so if the cop says your tail light was cracked or someone called in your plates, even if it's not true, you're screwed.

Hold the fuck up....thats racist as shit. Who says they do it more to black people than white people? What figures are you basing these statements off of? I don't know about you, but I see more white people pulled over on the side of the road than I do black people. Half the black people out there can't even afford cars. And i'd be willing to bet that almost half of the black people that do have cars arent pulled over thinking they have drugs or a DWI.....it's because their tags are expired. Same goes with Mexicans. Just because you only see those people on COPS on FOX, that doesnt mean its mostly them who are pulled over.

I think most cops are smart enough to understand that if this is questioned, it's a pretty simple matter to examine records and see if there actually WAS a complaint called in.

Again, I think I'm okay with that. S/he was sitting in a parked car on the side of a deserted highway in a car matching the description of someone who was harassing students down the road.

And, to be honest, judging from the tone s/he used here, sounds like s/he was giving the cop shit, too.

I have no problem with the way the cop handled this situation.

Hahaha. This is me. I get pulled over ALL THE TIME. Literally about once every other week. Which is why I don't understand the concept of bitching to the cop that pulled you over --

WHAT DID YOU EXPECT TO HAPPEN?

Yes but if I do HR for USGS, that doesn't mean I work in geology.

You might not be a geologist, but you work in geology if you ask me.
