First St. Patty's day of being 21....
Early morning Mass, Air Force ROTC breakfast, my 9:35 class , working all afternoon , and then hitting up Water Street! My best friend is coming down from Madison for the day and my boyfriend and some of his boring lawyer friends are coming down too.

People would argue that the real reason Ohio University changed from Semesters to Quarters was so Spring Break would happen on St. Pattys Day week.
In the "old" days, there were riots every year because a lot of kids from schools like Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, etc. would all come to Athens for St. Pats.
Now, they do it on Halloween.
It's tough to keep a party school down.

I work at Red Robin...nothin Irish about it other than me and one of the managers (except that we serve Guinness...and that's a stretch).
Tomorrow I work a double at said job, and then I intend to drink at least one Irish Car Bomb (shot of Bailey's in a glass of Guinness...yes, it's a terrible name for a drink) and then hang out with an Irish AOII friend of mine.

Lets see....
Just got back from a pub holding a St. Practice Day.... and won a $250 Guinness gift certificate - only good tomorrow.... so I think I'll be hitting the pub and doing more than my fair share of drinking...
Basically by this time tomorrow I will be hoisting a pint and doing a jig at an undisclosed location
My only concern is that around 4ish I am presenting a paper on the IRA campaign of violence between 70' & 94'...

If I was still in Norman, Oklahoma... I'd be over at O'Connell's Irish Pub on Lindsey and Asp... getting sh*t-faced on green beer.

To all of our inter-fraternity/inter-sorority brothers and sisters, please make sure that you designated a driver or call a cab home, cuz GREEKCHAT just would not be the same without you on here.....
God Bless.....

eff O'Connels.
I'll take Bricktown over that dump any day. Have you visited Bricktown lately? It seriously rivals anything I've seen in Texas. For OKC, I think that's saying something.
That's where I'll be tommorow starting about 7PM.
Look for me to be in either the Bricktown Brewery drinking green beer, or at Tapwerks filling up on Black & Tans.

..... Black & Tans.... you'd be strung-up ordering that in most Irish pubs up here - I'd stick to something that doesn't reference the "Troubles".

well since I have a test at 10am the next day...I won't be doing anything (yet again) for St. Patrick's Day.
But one of my chapter sister's will be in Dublin today, so I'm sure she'll have a few pints for us that can't celebrate properly.

we have one "official" irish pub in town and its party is extreme. but as we all know on st. pat's day, everyone is irish and the green food coloring just flows. lots of specials today on green chile enchiladas around el paso.

I'll probably just order my old standby... maybe see if they can give it a green hue.. Spaten Optimator. It ain't Irish, but it's the nectar of the gods.

My day isn't starting out so exciting. Going to class at 10 and then teaching 6th graders at 2. Then getting ready for my birthday celebration at the greatest bar in town with my bestest friends! Man I love St. Patricks Day!
