dzandiloo- I kinda know how you feel. Even though all these places are within short driving distance for me, I can't eat it. Really greasy foods (particularly fried chicken and hamburgers) are a no-no while I'm pregnant. I haven't suffered from morning sickness at all, but the greasy stuff does get the stomach churning. It sucks to not be able to eat stuff I'm used to I did cheat with the grits, after that thread popped up, but I didn't feel very good after that meal.

My neighborhood fried chicken joint, the Cornerstone Grill, has the best fried chicken that I've ever had.
They take free range chicken, remove the skin (which I hate,) batter dip and pressure cook it. This is really good stuff, for the price of KFC or Popeyes!
And you can even get a huge side of broccoli for $2.50 if you want to pretend that you're eating healthy.

The skin is the best part IMO...

You are SOOOOOOO right!! I really miss Po'Folks, too, even though it's been years since I've seen one. I can still taste their fried chicken and red beans & rice.
You'd think they would have left the recipe with someone!
