I liked the cat commercial the best, too.
I thought the halftime show was awesome. The quality of MUSIC was actually good, which is something usually lacking from those halftime "shows". I thought it was a refreshing change.

I agree that the cat in the spaghetti sauce was the best commercial. The rest were forgettable.

I called the Bud commercial, where all the animals ran up to the stable to try out to be Budwieser clydesdales. I said in the middle of it, "I bet they're gonna try to be the Bud horses" and everyone at the party was like "Have you seen this before?" I was like, no, but I just had a feeling it was going to be a takeoff on the donkey commercial.
I liked the P. Diddy commerical, and the one where the guy worked with a bunch of chimps, especially the part where the chimps were sitting on the copy machine making copies of their butts. The Cadillac commericals made me wish I had enough money to get one! I also liked how on the Lays commercial, the little kids threw MC Hammer back over the fence...poor Hammer.

It was... I didn't get that one. But Hammer made TWO apperances in commercials.
Ok... did anyone else think that they showed that "Hi I'm frozen in my new convertable" commerical way too much? I think I saw it twice within 5 minutes. And I didn't like it much either.

I liked the one for the NFL Network with the the players and coaches who weren't in the Superbowl spending time with their families or out on the beach or fishing or whatever and singing "Tomorrow". I thought it was cute.

This year is the 30th anniversary of when I discovered the Beatles. Sure, since I was born in the middle of Beatlemania I always knew who they were. I just didn't get it until 1975. Considering the powers that be wanted a fool-proof and safe halftime show, who better than Sir Paul?
BTW, that Hammer commercial was for Nationwide Insurance. I thought it was cute. The Mastercard spot with the Jolly Green Giant, Count Chocula, etc wasn't a good MC spot, but oh it was fun to see all those characters of my childhood again. Loved all of the NFL network ones. Best commercial of the night was the "Tomorrow" one, from an entertainment and marketing standpoint.
I'm wondering, did some marketing research firm declare that monkeys were advertising gold this year? If so, fire the research monkeys because they were wrong.
It's rather interesting to watch the Super Bowl with a marketing professional (DH). I loved the new Mustang commerical the 1st time it aired, and he promptly dissected it for me Of course, once it ran 258 times I was sick of the spot and the car.

the thing about the NFL "tomorrow" commercial was that it wasn't new... I recall seeing something very similar before... don't know if it was at the beginning of the playoffs or maybe even last year. Maybe they changed some players (like adding Big Ben), but it wasn't a new concept for them.
Was VERY sick of the monkeys. Surprised they didn't get the Monkeys to perform during halftime.
While Paul was a safe bet, I really wish they would've done something more to appeal to different age groups and genres. I wasn't all into last year's with Justin and Janet... I think the year before was Shania? Who was boring and sang old songs. In my opinion, entertainment at a football game should be exciting, not something that puts me to sleep.
One of the most entertaining in recent memory was the one with Aerosmith, Run DMC, and a bunch of current stars.... I thought it was good because it appealed to many different audiences and genres of music.

See, I didn't care for that one. I thought it was too "all over the place" with no true focus. The Aerosmith part was cool, but then it was N'Sync, Britney, Run DMC, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir (ok, kidding on that one). Same thing for a few years ago with Shania and Sting/Gwen Steffani (and I love Sting and Gwen!)...it just seemed very disjointed. I really prefered what they did this year. Then again, if you don't like Sir Paul, I guess I could see how it would be boring. I suppose with a big event like that, there's no pleasing everyone.

I sooooooooo would've stayed home and watched the game if Guns 'n Roses had been the half time show!

in case you missed them -- or want to see them again!
Fox Sports has listing and review of each of them by quarter:

Most have links so that you can see them again.

I liked both Pepsi ads (Celebs & Under The Cap)
I also liked the Ameriquest Morgage ads (Convenience Store & Cat in Sauce)
The Brad Pitt/Beer one wasn't bad either

I personally thought that this years half time shows was GREAT, one of the best that I had seen in a while.
Some of the commecials fell flat....I really liked the cat commercial for Ameriquest - it cracked me up. I was also excited to see some of the movie trailers, like War of the Worlds, The Pacifier and Batman Begins.
