There are other greek-lettered groups, yes, but I focus on the
major ones. Numbers of posts can easily be found by checking
the individual forums--as the number is given. Lambda Chi and
Teke are the larger of these posters, you can compare the others
and draw your own conclusions.
I think you are right, many are busy expanding into Canada and
reviving dead chapters, and little is addressed here to enhance these aspirations.
Maybe the TKEs and Lambda Chis have less important jobs with more free time to spend on the interweb speculating.

If'n you all might still think there is a correlation between the #
of chapters, initiates--living and dead, and posts, I would suggest
you take a refresher course in stats or math.

I suggest you get a life/job/hobby and do something more productive than figuring out meaningless statistics on who posts on a message board.

If you're as intelligent as you say you are why would you waste your time doing this?

And again - WHO CARES? WHAT DOES IT MATTER?????

ever hear of "new math"? This is "old math"!

And don't worry, you don't need to understand b/c you're in the not-a-major-GLO club with me.

That's the same question I'm asking. I'm not sure where the numbers came from and what they really have to do with anything.

We prefer prestigious universities over community colleges and junior colleges.

I *think* I am in the major GLO club, and I don't understand.

Are the numbers from the GLO forums themselves? That's the only place I can think of, because he cites 600 something posts for Kappa Sig, and I have more than that myself.

Erik, I suggest you take an Econometrics course. Rudith and I will be happy to explain it to you after you have flunked out.

I don't think it's particularly surprising that the fraternities that have more members (Sig Ep, Kappa Sig, etc.) have more people posting here than the smaller fraternities. What I wonder about is why, sometimes, the opposite is true. For example, Tri Delta is one of the largest NPC sororities in terms of total numbers AND total chapters, yet we have relatively few of us who post on GC. Compare us to, say, Phi Sigma Sigma, who has a lower number of total initiates and yet tons of posters on GC.

That's what Erik seems to be referring to -- that's what matches up for Lambda Chi, at least.

Of course, aside from the fact that doesn't take into account postings on the general forums, it is also simply counting the number of posts, not the number of posters. For example, Lambda Chi has a long (and very interesting) thread of "Daily Lambda Chi Facts." It has hundreds of posts but not hundreds of posters -- one will see many of the same names over and over. Plus, it is not at all uncommon for people to post in a forum for a GLO to which they don't belong.

So, just because the Lambda Chi forum has 4848 posts doesn't mean there are 4848 posters on there (though there are a lot of Lambda Chis on there to be sure), that all the posts on that site are from Lambda Chis, or that more Lambda Chis post on GC than members of any other NIC fraternity.

As sugar and spice says, it stands to reason that GLOs with larger members are more likely to have more members posting here, but it's not necessarily so. Perhaps members of some GLOs prefer to do their posting in other venues that are specific (and access restricted, perhaps) to their own GLO.

And that's post 1000 for me.
