Let's see.. I've heard that we all do coke, we're all anorexic, we won't accept anyone who isn't blonde (out of 100 of us, theres probably about 20 brunettes, but we dont discriminate during rush!), we stand pledges up in the middle of the mountainlair (our student center) and the CROWD can circle their fat. That last one was my favorite. I love getting to hear the crazy rumors during rush, I seriously don't know where people come up with this stuff.

I remembered when I rushed, I was saying something in class one day about the differences in Alpha Phi and Alpha Xi and this random pike pledge turns around and was like, "definitely go alpha xi, alpha phi turns everyone into cokeheads".. OK buddy.

I've definitely had to clear up rumors during rush about our "hazing".. some of the stuff is so ridiculous that it's almost funny.

Yea, I can't believe that someone would say that about DG when I was sitting there in a letter shirt. But whatever she didn't even get a bid to the "not-pretty" sororities haha.

And Rudey you wouldn't believe how many people do coke at WVU. It's sad really. That's half the reason theres always a line for the bathroom in Bent Willey's.

Here are some other rumors (all GROSSLY false) about chapters here:

*AAA- Only takes girls who can sing and dance in order to win Greek talent events.

*AB- You have to be a freshman, blonde, and a size 0 to even be considered.

*XY- Makes their new members go out and drink and even circles fat.

*CD- Same as XY only they also force you to go over to the frats in your underwear.

The silliest sorority rumor EVER:

EF- Upon receiving your bid, you must also purchase a tanning package from a nearby salon.

All these ironically came from non Greeks

Ain't that the truth! I was shocked to find out how many people here do it, even a few of my friends do.

Of course, my high school was featured on 20/20 for our heroin problem.. so I'm not really sure which is worse.

The thing is, I think coke has made a general comeback in the past 5 years or so. I know a lot of people who do it on a pretty regular basis on the weekends and it's not uncommon to see it around or know that it's around pretty much every time I go out. I guess the 80's are back for more than just fashion...

I don't think its appropriate to name actual chapters. If you noticed, other posts in this thread did not use actual chapter names (which is why I changed them in the quoted section).

I did hear a rumor that one fraternity made their pledges do the "elephant walk." I did know some guys in that house but I never asked them...if it was true I really didn't want to know.

havent heard any rumors, but the stereotypes are easy. we have the GPAs, the SHIMs, the SLUTs, the HOTs, the SNOBs and the FATs.

the gpa and hot are pretty true, but the rest i dont get, because they aren't really all that true. sure, a few girls here and there, but generally.. no.

I think that the schools with more chapters tend to have less defined stereotypes. I couldn't just pick out the "hot" sorority at Miami, because there are about 5 or 6 that are about equal.

Now I don't know if hollywood is lying to me or not, but wouldnt the cokehead sororities also be sluts, as that is how most pornstars rock it in the movies, not to meantion thats how orgies start...
