I love it only takes a spark. We use it at a lot of things. Whenever we seem to pass anything.

That (something) line is "you can depend on it"

LOL, once we had a girl who was so nervous about her engagement candlelight that she forgot to blow it out on the third pass. It started around for the fourth pass and this little voice somewhere in the back asked, "Is 4 times pregnant?"

*sigh* I dont know those songs Is there any way to get a tape as an alum? I'd love to hear them...I think one of the mentioned songs is the one we sang years ago for a candlepass ceremony, but all the people who knew it graduated and now no one knows the song.

Question Candlepass?

I've never heard of a candle pass before but it sounds wonderful!!! Is it just used for engagements? Is it possible to explain it a bit more or would that be too much information?

Actually, I think most groups do them so they aren't really a secret but we did ours chapter night and stood in a huge circle. The candle started w/the president and was passed all the way around. Whoever it was for blew it out on the first pass for lavalier, second pass for pinning and third pass for engagement. Usually afterwards the guys would show up on the porch to sing to her. Really sweet!

It's not just for engagements. There can be ones for friendship, pinning/lavaliering, engagements, and er...pregnancy.

At IN Gamma it is a surprise for most part. The woman would tell one other sister and the housemom, and a note would be posted on the front door saying when the candlelight would be.

Many organizations do candle passing ceremonies. I myself have never seen one but I really do think that there might be one in the near future for one of our girls. I look forward to it but I wish I knew what songs we would sing. Oh well. I just think it would be neat to experience it.
