I've actually read that the Slim-Fast execs are Dems...it was the customer feedback that encouraged them to drop her as a spokesperson.

I think them firing her is absolute BS, Whoopi has always been a little controversial in what she says and does. They bought into that persona when they bought her name to promote a product. It's like buying a home next to an airport and then complaining about the jet noise.

maybe i'm a little wrong to compare the whole whoopie thing to our GLOs, because in a way it really is like comparing apples to oranges...
... but at the same time, I think it's almost the same... if one of us were to do something that reflects poorly on our chapter and/or entire GLO, I'm almost sure most GLOs would do something about it.
like I said.. just a thought that probably doesn't even make sense

The way I look at it, if I own a company and I'm getting complaints about the spokesperson, then they're history. Unless, of course, there's an "unbreakable" contract.
I hate to say it, but with this being a VERY ugly election year, I'm going to guess that Whoopi is probably the first among many...

I think I'm going to boycott Slim-Fast! I don't want those censors getting my money, loading up their dirty liberal pockets.
BOYCOTT!

If you boycott Slim Fast what do you want to happen? For them to bring Whoopi back??
Whoopi will be cool without Slim Fast, she's a souljah!

I know. There's a small contingent on GC who wants to boycott Heinz ketchup because they don't want the Kerry campaign to gain the money (which has since been proved false). I was making fun of them. After all--I'm a dirty liberal, and I want us to get (even) more money.

besides the whole comment backlash factor.. lets look at another issue that should have lead to her being fired as spokesmodel.. Did Whoopi really sell the product? Does it look like slimfast worked for her? I think she's looked the same throughout the campaign

No lie. At State, I knew a KA whose name was Harry Bush. And his dad's was too--what a thing to do to your kid after you suffered through it!
