History regarding Armstrong--
I am the faculty adviser for AST, and have been around Savannah for awhile, so hopefully I can shed some light here...
Sororities that were on campus--AGD, Phi Mu, and (I think)Sigma Kappa. All three closed in the late eighties/early nineties. Armstrong has primarily been a commuter campus, and in the 80's, the state took away their business degrees and relocated them to Savannah State, along with several other degree programs. Although there are 6,000 students, many of them are nontraditional. Things are starting to change however, Armstrong has recently begun a huge expansion project which includes the addition of some new residence halls along with some academic buildings.
At this time on campus, AST and SSS are colonizing. There is a chapter of Kappa Sigma on campus, along with some NPHC groups. The university would like to see a thriving Greek system on campus again, and they have just this year hired a Greek Adviser who is just fantastic.
Hope this helps!
