I admit I didn't see it but yesterday on The View (I think), they showed more of the broadcast and that the little boy wasn't even reaching for it???

Stupid fatass.

I was watching Inside Edition and I really started laughing when the little boy's mom was hitting him with the program. Stupid fatass deserved it.

I can't stand fatass men. Especially ones who wear Tevas like he did.

I dunno.. if I was 60 pounds and some 28 year old man was charging at me to get something in my area, my instinct would be to get away, not to compete with the man that is 3-4 times my size.

If the guy had caught the ball while standing AT HIS OWN SEAT then I say he could keep it (if he wants to be a selfish jerk), with the pretext that the kid would have plenty of other chances to catch a foul ball. (not that I would have kept it... if a foul ball comes my way, I get out of the way so kids can get it) What truly irks me is that he fell over the row of seats bowling over a small child. And then holds up the ball as if he expects people to congratulate him?!? I'd have swatted him with more than a piece of cardboard!! hmmm... think mom could call one of those ambulance-chasing attorneys and claim 'pain and suffering'?

According to the local news, both the Cardinals and Rangers gave him autographed bats and balls and the Rangers gave free tickets to another game.

That asshole's behavior made me embarrassed to live in the area. I'd like to drop-kick him through the goal posts of life!

(yes, I realize I'm mixing metaphors here)

This guy was an ass to that poor little boy. I promise you, if that had been my kid that man could only hope I would have been as nice as that mother.

I have the nightly news on and they just had a follow up on this story. The man is writing a letter of apology to the boy, giving him the ball, and giving him tickets to future Rangers games. I guess the public humilation got to the man.

That doesn't buy him any sympathy in my book.

it is hard to see any sincerity behind that man's apologies.

it doesnt matter if that boy was going for the ball or not. that man had no right to do what he did. completely obnoxious

Ohhh I completely agree. I was not trying to imply the guy made right on the situation. He was wrong--- and still is, regardless of what he does now. It is like an aplogy after being told you need to apologize--worthless!!!!

The guy is still an ass in my book.

It reeks of insincerity especially since the newspaper quoted the senior paster at his church saying "he really likes kid" === uh, huh... you want to KEEP your job? You apologize... (he shouldn't have to be told to apologize for knocking a child into the seat...

I still think they need to make an example out of him... one thwack of a baseball bat at a time.

Take 'em out back and shoot 'em? Nahhh... too humane.
