He did not kick her out of the house, and he did not let his mistress move in.
Also, divorce will never hurt a Republican in general elections.

Re: Giuliani replacing Cheney as VP?

Could this tip the balance in the polls?

Yeah - Giuliani would help - but Bush would still NOT win NY. The basis of that state usually votes democrat, typically liberal democrat. It would get Buch a few more votes but not enough to do anything. What will win this election will come down to who's on the ticket for President. VP - doesn't play a significantly large role when it comes to voting for President.
It play a role - not just a truely significant one. We don't know who Kerry's runningmate is, most people already know who they'll vote for one way or the other - VP decided for each candidate or not.
Also, do you really think Bush could get away with Giuliani w/o people screeching that he was "Profiting Off 9-11"

I would think it would hurt a Republican a lot more than a Democrat.

Actually, Mayor Guiliani moved out of the mansion and across the street from me. Donna Hanover continued to live in Gracie Mansion with the children after they separated.

The goal of a second term VP is to get elected president, and Cheney is unelectable. TOO extreme, and dosent have the health.
So it will be interesting in 08 to have Rudy and Hiilary running against each other. THat will be an election...
|
I don't know about Cheney's electability or not. He did an awesome speech the other night at Reagan's funeral. I don't think he wants the job, though. After all, he took a pay-cut just to be vice president.
But who knows what could happen by then? I'm just praying for God to spare us from Hillary.

No way. Rule #1 in politics is to never reinforce negative stereotypes. Republicans have the reputation of being pro-traditional marriages. Reagan was divorced, and it didn't affect him.

That would be a real perversion of the system. But nothing would surprize me.
