FWIW, I once read in a book on anti-aging that women who tend to get a wrinkled forehead would do well to develop a hair style that does include bangs!
Which is precisely why I wear bangs, always.

No bangs. HATE THEM.

I grew mine out the day I quit cheerleading.

I went through the requisite poofy cheerleader bangs phase, but have transitioned quite nicely to sleek, side-swept bangs. See the post above about my big forehead...

I was going to suggest to see your stylist that you trust, and ask them. You may or may not have the right shape of head or face for bangs. I went to my former stylist and asked, and she said no way in hell. The local one agreed, and I am not allowed any length shorter than chin.

I think this is what they all mean, the description said "bangs swept to the side".

ETA didn't you have eeough bangs in the 80's to last your whole life? My sister is about the same age that you are, and the bangs she has now are nothing compared to her high school look in 1987.

OMG I had the absolute worst bangs in history up until freshman year of high school. I had the ones that were just cut straight across your forehead and I wore them all curly and poofy and ewww...yuck.

I grew them out though finally and then like Kath I started wearing them again as soon as I began cheering, but they weren't as heavy. I just needed some wispy but poofy ones to match my outrageous ponytail that was teased and curled within an inch of its life and then tied with a big bow. MAN, I miss those days of cheerleading. I think everyone on my squad went through at least two cans of hair spray a piece every week. It was definitely bad news.

I really like the wispy side swept bangs that are popular right now, but I have a medium/small forehead so bangs in any form just do not work for me. But if one can pull them off I think the side swept ones look really cute!!!

Bangs are WAY too much of a commitment for me... I hate growing them out.

But, they are very stylish and of-the-moment right now. Sort of the Jennifer Garner, long bang look. I say discuss it with a professional and see what she says your face is best suited for. Then, if you go for it, start out with them longer. You can always go shorter, but it's such a hassle if they start too short.

I've had the side swept bangs for about two months now. I was really nervous about cutting them , but I'm so glad I did! Ponytails don't seem so blah on me now. Plus, they draw attention to eyes!

When I think og sideswept bangs I think of Rachel's hair style in the finals episodes of Friends. It's actually really pretty.
I'd like that, but my hair is curly/wavy/poofy so bangs don't work well for me.
I haven't had bangs since I was 9.

I kind of do, but I can't style my hair for shit (most of the time I'm too lazy/late to) so they don't look as good. Plus, I think I need a new stylist.

I've got wavy hair too, so bangs don't really work on me.

Plus, I'm still traumatized by the 80s/90s and don't think I could even consider them for another 10 years
