An email I received from another "place".
Many of you know that I have worked with Iyanla on her "In The
Meantime" CD as well as have a close personal relationship with her. You may
also know that Iyanla's new show ratings are "fair" at best (Amazingly,
she is doing really well in the NY market even at 12.35AM!)
Iyanla has called on me to reach out to my friends to help her.
Hopefully, you have seen the show at least once. She is shocked and appalled
at the direction the producers have taken her show. She has repeatedly
stated that the show is NOT a reflection of who she is. After all,
Barbara Walters chose to executive produce her show based on what she saw
Iyanla doing on Oprah.
Iyanla, via her books and our many conversations, has touched my life
as I am sure she has touched some of your lives as well. Even if this
is not necessarily true in your case, this is a sista who is trying to
reach people with a message that if ever there was a time to be heard,
it is now. We all need some sense of what to do in the middle of this
matter. We could all use a little more balance and peace at this
devastating time in America.
Here is what I am asking you to do.
Please log onto
www.iyanlatv.com and select "SHOW FEEDBACK". The
producers of the show read EVERY SINGLE email that is sent according to
Iyanla. If you have seen the show and are as displeased as I am, please
take a moment and let that be known. The producers have "allowed" her to
do 2 shows on the "crisis" after her asking to dedicate the entire week
to this topic. It is unfortunate that until you "own" your own show,
you do not have creative control. It took Oprah 7 years before she
obtained that right. Unfortunately, at the rate Iyanla is going, she will
not last another 7 weeks. And most importantly, her spirit is broken as
she KNOWS this is not
the Iyanla that we expected.
Please, please, take a minute......
