Iyanla Vanzant's New Show...

"Iyanla" premieres Monday on ABC. Check your local listings for the time.

I went to the ABC website to see if they had any information, but they didn't http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif Maybe they'll add the show to their lineup by Monday or soon after.

I think I might have to pull out the VCR for this.

That is because she will be on CBS. In the WDC area it will be at 10am.

It must be in SYNDICATION, because it comes on ABC here! I've seen the commercial like 3 times already. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif

I hope her show is off the hook - I just can't take Ophrah anymore nor Dr. Phil!

nikki25 08-13-2001 09:47 AM

I, unlike the Professor just love Dr. Phil! In fact, I've been known to reschedule meetings, change grad courses around and such, just so that I could watch him! He tells the truth as is..no sugar coating. My kind of person. The fact that he outs people on national TV is their own fault...but that's just me. Oprah is still my girl despite her shacking up, her "spirit" thang...because she still puts forth something positive every day.

Iyanla---no comment! Too much happening there.

It comes on ABC here but at 2am. At that time slot, it is destined not to have high ratings....we'll see

Your local affiliate placed the show at that time. All you and others in your area have to do is call, write or both, your local station and ask that they change the time of the show. Then, she will come on at a more reasonable hour.

I saw her show this morning at 10:00 ~ it was good. She had married couples on there w/ financial issues...

Peace 08-14-2001 12:47 AM

I kind of agree with you, but I still love her. Ya know I like her magazine better than the show.

Now you don't have to do all of that, just set the VCR.

AKAtude: Dr. Phil will have his own show? When will that air?

Peace: I like to watch it 'live'.

Yeah,word is Oprah "supported" Dr. Phil with HIS show, unlike "other" people. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Preface: The following is related to AKA2D's last comment, but stretches it some.
~~~~~~~~
From articles that I've read wherein Iyanla and Oprah were featured, they don't suffer from a riffed relationship as people may believe.
Now, I do have a very close source in the Oprah camp whom has stated that the reason why Iyanla couldn't appear on Oprah's show any longer is because Iyanla began to break their contract. The contract stated that she wasn't to do any appearances without the consent of Winfrey or mentioning the show. When she began appearing on other shows, etc., the contract was broken, and that is why we didn't see Iyanla featured on Oprah any longer.
In terms of Oprah's attitude about Iyanla's show, competition is competition. It took her a while to invite Rosie on her show. She and Iyanla have seperately said there isn't any beef between them, so perhaps they will share an amicable relationship on air.
I have it a little better than you, but not much. Here, it comes on at 12:35 a.m. I would love to see it, but I just can't. And, I don't have time to tape it. With my life as busy as it is, I can only watch something if it's on when I come in and fall on the couch.
I love Dr. Phil! I can't wait for his show to begin. I'll have to find out when "Iyanla" come on around here.
