Just because we are a small liberal arts college does not mean that we are not a great place to be in a GLO. I think 60% of my campus agrees (cause we're all Greek)... CENTRE COLLEGE

I am a Beta, you didn't piss me off - I love reading good things about Beta. As a matter of fact, I can't understand why people would get pissed off at your posting, quite frankly Erik, its ridiculous. Boy Pi Phi's, Lady Pi Phi's...blah blah blah, that's what they were called back in your day, so the people who are offended should shut their pie-holes because they weren't there to hear it.
I was once called a Baked Potatoe Pie, I laughed, I didn't go get an ulcer over it - and Mrs. ZZ-kai- laughed too.

so long as they talk....
One of my Beta friends once told me...when someone said
"If you can't go Greek, go Teke," alluding to our letters being
the same in English as in Greek...he said "so long as they talk
about you..."
It is pretty darned tough to get any better than Beta or SAE, but
we all did not go to schools where there were chapters, or, may
be we just didn't get a bid! LOL
Hope I did not piss anyone off -- again....

E, you will always piss someone of not knowing off!
What you have is knowledge that while it might be "OLD" to some, they do not realize that you are still active in many facets of Greek Life!
What you Bring to Greek Life is a Cross work of what is going on across Greek Lines of Mens and Womens Greek orgaizations.
Yes, I was disturbed to learn abourt the BPE House at U. Neb. Lomcoln and am sure they will retify the problem!
What you bring more so than anyone else is The History of Greek Organizations, and you and I are just alike by so many others out there who beleive as we do, In Greeks!
Maybe there will be more who decide to do the same!
Go Greeks!

Re: so long as they talk....
I was fortunate enough this past week to listen to our Administrative Secretary speak at our local alumni luncheon. He told us that Beta has 121 chapters and colonies throughout North America. I was a slight bit distraught after hearing that, as I'd love to see Beta near the 175 mark like SAE and EX. He went on to tell us though that Beta is in mode right now where if a chapter is going to fail, it will fail and will be re-organized in a few years under new direction...a simple way of getting around the term "cutting the fat". He also stated that he gets calls from time to time from Universities asking for Beta to expand there, not your typical 'bitch session with a University that we are already at'. There is not much more that one can get as a compliment such as being asked to expand at their campus. In terms of today’s Greeks, with numbers dwindling within the chapter house and throughout general membership, I am happy to say that Beta is making huge strides to be dominant on most campus where her roots lie.
As always Erik, it’s great to read your posts.
My Grand-father-in-Law is a TKE from your Alpha Chapter, its great to sit and talk with him of the greeks of old - I get a kick out of it every time. His wife is an AGD from the same campus.
