woo hoo!!! i found out today that my tax refund was directly deposited into my bank account last week. however, becuase of the education credit thing, i only got 1/4 of my taxes back instead of the full refund . my parents got the other 3/4 + more $$$ because they used it to claim me on their return.

Ours are not due till the April 30th.

My parents have so graciously let me give my stuff to their accountant.

I should really learn to do them. Mine are not that complicated really. I just don't want to to them.

LX taxes

I have to tele-file today. I have NO deductions other than the standard/personal exemptions. But I'm still getting some "caysh" (per Jim Rome) back.

I think we filed ours in late Feb/early March and we received our refund last week.

We're being responsible, married adults and using it to pay off credit cards and then putting the rest in saving--right after we buy a digital camera!

Ugh; just wrote out a check for an obscene amount of money and will drop it off at the post office tonight. Nothing like living in Maryland (unofficial state motto: "If you can dream it, we can tax it")

Oh well, someone's gotta pay for the hardwood floors in the waterfront housing project the state just built down in Annapolis!

You should start your own fake business and come up with fake business expenses.

Two reasons:

1) The time factor. If you're an auditor and there are only 100 returns on your desk, a larger percentage of them will be audited than if there are 1,000 returns on your desk.

2) The label factor. If you use the nice label that the IRS provides for you with your name, address, etc, on it, there is a code embedded in some of those that will kick out the ones who have already been picked for audit.

But you didn't hear it from me!
