Exclamation Anchor Man

One picnic table.
Two teams, one seated on each side of the table.
Two kegs of beer (non-alcoholic, of course ), one for each team.
Two cups, one for each team.

No one may throw up.
No one may spill beer.
No one may leave the table.
No one may relieve himself at the table.

First team to finish off their keg, wins.

that doesn't sound like a drinking game as much as it sounds like mass suicide.

WHy not just put some cyanide in the beer and make it quicker?

In fact, due to the Taliban sounding nature of your game Russ, us bouncers will close off membership to y'all.

No one ever died from playing it, at least not in my chapter. Its more than a game, its a sport, complete with the thrill of victory and the agony of defeat.

Remember that its called Anchor Man, so not everyone can play.

So glad to see a fellow Caps brother wasn't afraid to speak up. And as a minority minority (a female caps player) I feel particularily discriminated against!

The way that anchor man is played at my school is that there is a pitcher in the center of the table and the two teams try to get all of their quarters into the pitcher first. The team that loses (fails to get their quarters in first) has to drink the whole pitcher.... The pitcher cannot be removed from the person's lips until they are done. The entire team has to drink from the pitcher, passing it down the line....the last person may have to drink 3/4 of the beer, but cannot remove the pitcher from his lips...hence the name "anchor man."

I support the integration of all of these manners of sport into fraternities and sororities. Plus, it could greatly expand Greek Week...if previously only one fraternity was dominated by, say, exceptional quarters players, who would they compete with? This way each org has an equal chance at dominating...and if one org was able to champion more than one category (ABC Sorority wins at quarters and beer pong!) then obviously they are the shit. I like this thread, it should definitely stay.

I suck at quarters and beer pong.

There's CUPS (not to be confused w/ flip cup, cups is much stupider) and Up & Down the River, but the really bad one is Questions. Do not play this game with Sigma Chis.

Girl,

every Tuesday night was Tuesday Night Quarters.

I've played more games of quarters than the number of consecutive posts starang has in the "other" thread.

But, i welcome all challengers

BTW, in the quarters playing frat, we have many different families. We have the 2 on 2 Team Quarters family, the Speed Quarters family, the Chandaliers(sp) Family, et al. There is a place for all bouncers in our frat.

We did something similar for Sigma Chi Derby Days (back in 88) but each woman had two cups of beer (actually near beer, which is really gross) and you went down the table one way, and back up the table (drinking one cup each time) and first team done won. I think it was 5 person teams and yes, I was the one who got to be at the far end and swig both cups one after the other. It doesn't even SOUND appealing to me now........
