A full/queen duvet cover for $69.99 from macy's.
www.overstock.com has duvet covers that are even less expensive.

From Target -- $69.99
One word of warning about duvet covers--the duvet tends to slide around inside it. There are clips you can buy to keep it from doing so, otherwise you end up with all the duvet down by your feet.

Rudey,
Marshall Fields (online) is having a sale on bedding, you might want to check out the website --- http://www.target.com --- If you have some spare time I would run into Marshall Fields and take a look around the home department. If you go into the store, touch the sheets and notice the feel of the different thread count. I would go with a 350-400 or higher threadcount. They are little pricey, but worth it. As GP said, once you go up on threadcount you will never go down.
Good luck with the whole bedding thing.

--also Eddie Bauer has some nice duvet covers--you might what to check there as well.

Rudey, are we all giving you a headache with this talk of duvet clips and thread counts??? After you go and buy the damn thing you need to go to a truck and tractor pull or something to get your testosterone level back up there
All the poor guy wants to do is sleep! lol

This is ridiculous. All I wanted was a sheet, a pillow, and a blanket/comforter/duvet/whatever you call it. I did not ever want to learn what a sham was. In fact it really really bothers me that people get pillows that they don't sleep on. I still do not understand why anyone needs a bedspread because why don't you just put a sheet over the boxspring if you don't want to show it.
And now after all this I find out my thing is going to slide around Well I'm not buying duvet clips. I will buy bobby pins and bobby pin that together and if that doesn't work I will staple it. This isn't even enjoyable one bit. This isn't like buying a lacoste shirt or finding a fun Hermes tie with little horses on it. Thanks everyone for your help though.

If you really don't want to go spend the money on a real cover.. make one. I did!
I bought a fabric from wal mart and sewed it together. it cost me around $15-20. Its super easy. If you can't sew.. find someone (bribe them ) to sew it for you. I made mine and one for my roomate in less than an hour.
**All you have to do is measue your comforter, get enough fabric for 2 sheet like pieces (get them about a 1/4 yard bigger than you need), put them print side in.. sew 3 of the edges together, put the comforter in, sew the last edge.. PRESTO! **
Mine was cheap and sort of cheesey, but it has lasted me 2 years of college thus far!
ETA Because I have a typing problem

Sorry Rudey,
Not trying to mess with your head. I must have found it at the right time because there aren't too many nice duvet covers on the site right now for that cheap. But that one you posted isn't half bad.

I get cold verrry easily, plus I live near the coast where its cooler. I'd rather use the down comforter than keep the heat on all night.

Try Kohl's. They always have good sales. Looking on the website just now, I found this, which comes in white (ivory) and costs $51.99 (full), $58.49 (queen) or $64.99 (king). They have much more of a selection at the store than they do on the website.
I also found this for 59.99 at Bed, Bath, and Beyond.
(Second link is now fixed.)
