Cheap linens
Yes I know I sound gay for this. I don't care.
Where can I buy a white duvet cover for really really cheap? Everything I see that's normal and white is rather pricey. Come on chicks, you know where to get the linen so cough up the info! -Rudey |
try TJ Maxx. For something like duvet covers it could be hit or miss, but you might be able to luck out and find something at a great price, and probably a decent quality. They usually have a lot of Ralph Lauren and those sorts of brands.
Points to Rudey for knowing what a duvet cover is :) |

There's a chain of stores called Tuesday Morning where you can buy name brand linens really cheap. It's one of those places where they're constantly getting in new merchandise so if you don't find what you want one day it may be there next time.
Since I'm so nice, I found the Tuesday Mornings in the Chicago area and you can see if any of them are near you... 1. 4700 GILBERT AVE WESTERN SPRINGS, IL 60558-1696 (708) 784-9968 2. 4335 OAKTON ST SKOKIE, IL 60076-3220 (847) 674-2468 3. 306 BURR RIDGE BURR RIDGE, IL 60527 US (630) 789-0310 4. 100 E ROOSEVELT RD VILLA PARK, IL 60181-3529 (630) 833-3290 5. 17625 TORRENCE AVE LANSING, IL 60438-4839 (708) 889-1711 6. 240 E. You might try Overstock.com... They sometimes have good prices on expensive items. (But, sometimes, they are still too high...) Just a shot.
|
also check out ebay- they have a ton of that sort of stuff at great deals.
GC ladies = Rudey's personal shoppers |
ross, marshalls and any sort of consignment store. Also... if you have a craiglist.org in your area, I would check it out. people sell stuff for nothing there.
unless you need it immediatly... wait til target or mervyns has a sale. |
Seriously, go to ikea. My friend got a really cheap duvet cover there-nothing exciting but if you want white then you're set. I also recommend overstock.com, I got a couch cover on there a few years back and it was like 40% of the original cost!

For high thread count and good quality you should check out Tuesday Mornings like Killarny Rose said or if you want to order online checkout
www.overstock.com OR www.smartbargains.com Also, Rachel Ashwell just released a line at Target called Simply Shabby Chic I believe she has a white duvet cover as a part of the collection that is good quality and inexpensive. LD |

BTW...try SmartBargains.com they have high thread count Egyptian Cotton for reasonable prices...gotta hit them at the right time though. |
OK I will be erasing this thread after I figure all this stuff out because I rarely feel this...well you know.
I don't understand exactly what a duvet cover is. I just wanted a comforter. Evidently they're not called comforters anymore. Why I don't know, but I ended up with a "duvet" and it is down. Now from what I'm told I can't wash a duvet so I have to get a duvet cover. This doesn't sound ridiculous to you?? To make it more ridiculous, stores charge $100 for something that's like 2 sheets sewn together so I can put my duvet into it. I'm not stupid. I don't understand what's going on here exactly but that's a scam. In fact I didn't like paying 50 bucks for a sheet set. Yes I know, that's nothing compared to the expensive stuff. But it's ridiculous. People this isn't a complicated piece of clothing...it's a giant piece of cloth. Now that I'm done being upset. Does it matter what thread count I get? Is 250 a decent count? And the suggestion of TJMaxx and stuff was good except all their stuff had flowers or some strange pattern on it. I'm not a girl and I'm not gay so flowers just don't work. -Rudey |
The higher the thread count the better - it means it's going to be a lot softer and more comfy! A thread count of 250 is okay - it's actually about average.
|
Just for shits 'n' giggles I looked onine, and there are actually sheets that have a 1,250 thread count. I thought that was a bit ridiculous.
|
Definately check out Smartbargins.com. I just bought a duvet cover that is 600 Thread Egyptian cotton (think really really soft, like a cloud) for $35.00. Once shipping and handling were added, it only cost me $42.00. I don't think I've ever gotten such a deal.
