Now, some people do cry wolf in terms of hazing, some of the things I've heard didn't sound like hazing to me, but nonetheless people screamed haze. That entire term is kinda iffy.
But back to my question; why do people put up with this?
Call me crazy, but telling me to eat my own vomit would have been a "light bulb".

Probably cuz some active sister told them that they all went through this at one point so they are just carrying on the tradition. "can't break tradition."

Or it's some crazy form of a rite of passage where the nm has to EARN her membership. And maybe the new member doesn't know any better... feels more hatred toward the active house and CAN'T wait to be initiated so she can do it to the next pledge class. It's a vicious cycle. But yeah... eating my own vomit is where I hold a red flag. And having it be spam and booze... that can't taste great.
